Any fans of the movie comedy "Stripes" starring Bill Murray and directed by Ivan Reitman? The last movie collaboration these two had together before Ghostbusters changed everything for both. The movie is populated with famous faces like Harold Ramis, John Candy, Sean Young, Bill Paxton, John Larroquette, Judge Reinhold, etc. Leonard Maltin Movie Guide Review: Stripes (1981) - 2.5 out of 4 stars"Loser Murray joins the army in this predictable service comedy, which somehow pulled in millions at the box office. Sometimes funny, but eminently forgettable. Ramis, who plays Murray's buddy, also coscripted. Brief appearances by Joe Flahery and Dave Thomas. Extended edition runs 122m."

It's a movie I really want to like, but I can just never get into it and always wind up shutting it off. It's just never clicked with me for whatever reason.

It's a perfectly likeable movie with a good cast, but never quite manages to entirely click with me on the humour front. It's an amusing as opposed to hilarious comedy, a practice run for the far superior Ghostbusters a few years later. I'd rate it 7/10.

Wonderful movie from Ivan Reitman. Elmo and Oxburger drive Sergeant Hulka crazy.
I'd watch it in a double-bill with Peter Yuval's hilarious military comedy 'Shooters' (1989).

It's pretty good. It mostly relies on Bill Murray's charisma and improvisational comedy skills. Plus Warren Oates was the ideal casting choice as Sgt. Hulka.
