Indulge me From time to time on the old board I found that putting a callout for my MOST WANTED classic movies yielded some of the MIA treasures I desired. So here are my current top ten... none as far as I know are "lost". 10 THE CHALLENGERS 1970 A TV movie bumped from the schedules (moon landing or somesuch) ... but has good Classic era cast.. Darren McGaving plus Anne Baxter, Farley Granger, Sal Mineo, Richard Conte, Juliet Mills and Susan Clark. Played cinemas in Europe 9 NOWHERE TO GO/SILENT HEARTS 1998 Not really "classic" but the one Carroll Baker movie I have yet to see No visuals... imdb8 LES GRANDES CHEMINS 1963 7 ILLUSION 1929 once thought "lost" but has had showings in NY. The only Kay Francis movie to pass me by... 6 THE BRIGHT SHAWL 1923 Barthelmess, D Dish, W Powell, M Astor and EG Robinson!!!! 5 THE SINNER/DESERT DESPERADOES 1959 Ruth Roman in the desert 4 BODY AND SOUL 1931 Bogart & Loy are second leads 3 ANOTHER MAN'S WIFE 1967 Martha Hyer obscurity 2 SECRETS D'ALCOVE 1954 French portmanteau movie featuring young Jeanne Moreau in one episode 1 THE NAKED BRIGAGE 1965 Shirley Eaton in a bikini taking on the Hun with a machine gun!!!! It is advertised on this site but expensive and far away... anyone vouch for them? I never heard of The Naked Brigade. But I see that Shirley Eaton's co-star, Ken Scott, was re-uniting with director Maury Dexter after their collaboration on Raiders From Beneath The Sea. www.imdb.com/title/tt0058512/mediaviewer/rm823405056/I guess they had a Scorsese/De Niro thing going.

I guess they had a Scorsese/De Niro thing going. How true!!! Ken and Maury also collaborated on POLICE NURSE in 1963 , one of my favourite "hush hush"/society doctor racket movies. Criterion should offer all 3 in a special ed Box Set ... Ken had done OK for a few years until THE NAKED BRIGADE, featured roles in a couple of big movies and some lesser known ones: FIVE GATES TO HELL 1959 is fun- Ken and a bunch of nuns and nurses captured by Neville Brand as a Chinese warlord!!! - DESIRE IN THE DUST 1960 is poor man's tennessee williams - he's the excon back in town, Raymond Burr is Big Daddy and Martha Hyer the society girl with the hots for him But THE NAKED BRIGADE proved to be a curse for him.... next year he only had a bit in FANTASTIC VOYAGE and the next year was unbilled in ST VALENTINE'S DAY MASSACRE. He worked steadily on TV (everything from LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAERIE to DALLAS), and the odd film (as a rabbi in 1975s FABULOUS FANNY) . Shirley gave it a few more years but called it quits in 1968 after being violated contractually by Jess Franco - Crafty Jess inserted out takes from his SUMURU movie with Shirley into a FU MANCHU and had her billed as a special guest star!

And Merry Anders seems to be part of this repertory company, too. I do remember her from the TV series How To Marry A Millionaire and a horror movie The Hypnotic Eye.

I looked for you, but no luck with the sites I frequent around the world for obscure titles, even modcinema which specializes in 60s/70s TV film does not have The Challengers ? Most WANTED English language film for me has been for a number of years. She Shall Have Murder a 1950 British drama film directed by Daniel Birt starring Rosamund John, Derrick De Marney. Adapted from a novel from Delano Ames. I know the film must exist somewhere, a number of stills have been available for years on Ebay, along with a poster. All rare UK film sites do not have the film and enquiries made have come to nothing ?

Sadly I can't help - but I'll ask my regular classic movie dealers about it - one is a noir specialist - and let you know Good luck!

Hi Tim,with this duo (which I've been keeping an eye on) the current status is that the prints floating around online for these two don't currently have Eng Subs.
