Most war films could, such as Dunkirk, Fury, Saving Private Ryan, Thin Red Line, etc. The gore might have been tuned down a bit but the basic films could have been made. Dunkirk as a subject was already covered, and Thin Red Line had already been adapted once, but it was a much different film.
