After 20 matches, two of the ten participants have been eliminated (Bolivia and Venezuela, unsurprisingly). This is the match-up until the final on Saturday July 10th:
Argentina
Ecuador
Uruguay
Colombia
Brazil Chile
Peru Paraguay
I hope it's a Brazil vs Argentina final - that would be worth watching!
Quarter-finals this coming Friday and Saturday (as in the Euros), then semi-finals on the following Monday and Tuesday.

Copa ends on the 10th, the Euro final is on the 11th and the Gold Cup, with the US starts on the 10th with the US first match on the 11th. A whole summer of soccer.
Yeah, the Copa played the group stage (only two groups) just to eliminate two teams. More $$$. I'll pay more attention to the knockout rounds.
And, of course, Brazil vs Argentina will determine it.

Peru 1 Paraguay 1
2-2 on penalties before David Martinez took his for Paraguay. He tip-tapped on the spot before stepping up to blaze his left-footer over.
Ormeno saw the next one saved and the score remain 2-2 with two kicks each left.
Samudio for Paraguay, long run up, but he did a Martinez and sent it way over the bar!
Renata Tapio for Peru. Solid low strike to the corner of the goal for 3-2 Peru.
Piris de Motta steps up, he has to score...low and hard, rippling the net for 3-3.
Christian Cueva for Peru. Score and they're in the semis...he has a stuttering run up, fires low and sees his shot batted away by Silva with a fantastic one-hander.
3-3 after 5 penalties each.
It's 30 year old Alberto Spinola for Paraguay...saved by the captain Pedro Gallese!
Here comes Miguel Trauco, placing the ball carefully on the spot. He knows that this could win the tie...he eyeballs the keeper, he steps forward, low and hard and it whistles under Antony Silva's flying frame for 4-3 Peru.
They meet Brazil (or Chile) in the semis.

Yeah I may not last the match as it's 0100 now and it's been a busy day, but here are the line-ups anyway as they observe a minute's silence for those suffering and who have suffered from Covid. The ref blows up and they're off and running.
Brazil (4-2-3-1): 23-Ederson Moraes-GK — 2-Danilo, 4-Marquinhos, 3-Thiago Silva, 16-Renan Lodi — 8-Fred, 5-Casemiro — 7-Richarlison, 10-Neymar, 9-Gabriel Jesus — 20-Roberto Firmino
Chile (5-3-2): 1-Claudio Bravo-GK — 4-Mauricio Isla, 17-Gary Medel, 18-Sebastian Vegas, 6-Francisco Sierralta, 2-Eugenio Mena — 20-Charles Aránguiz, 13-Erick Pulgar, 8-Arturo Vidal — 11-Eduardo Vargas, 10-Alexis Sánchez

Brazil scores right after the break, and then almost immediately loses Gabriel Jesus to a thoroughly warranted straight red card (he went for the ball with his leg raised so high that he kicked an opponent on the face).

I remember Nigel De Jong kung fu kicked Xabi Alonso in the 2010 World Cup Final between Netherlands and Spain.

Tonight's ref is earning his fee. There is some brutal bodychecking around but also a lot of dying swans in both penalty areas. Messi's dentist is surely on standby as the No.10 suffers numerous elbows and shoulders to his chin

Messi who made the first goal with a magical pass does it again unselfishly passing to a teammate in the area for 2-0. Now Di Maria is upended when clean through and Messi nets the free-kick from the edge of the area.

With the game tied and less than 20 minutes before a shootout, Di Maria misses a golden opportunity: with the Colombian goalkeeper out of his line and beaten, and only a defender between him and the net, he defender manages to block the shot with his leg.
Exciting finish with great chances at both ends.
