Haven’t seen Pee Wee’d Big Adventure. Remember looking down on Batman 89 but saw the 2019 re release and it was better than I remembered

What a weird comparison. Pee Wee is a comedic adventure movie where Batman is a dark superhero movie. That’s like comparing Frozen to Sin City.

Pee Wee's Big Adventure.
Pee Wee was pretty much unknown in the UK, but there was a bit of a buzz at the time in some magazines about this weird comedy coming over from the States. It was also recommended to me by one of the guys (now a fairly well known film critic/talking head/film programmer) who used to work in the old Forbidden Planet film store.
Went to see it one evening after work, a pretty sparse audience, but we all loved it. It has remained one of my, if not the, favourite Burton films.

I don't like it as much as I use to, but I never liked Pee Wee's Big Adventure and I still don't. It's an okay movie, but it's no Batman.
