At the rate it's dropping, I assume it will end up being around the high 70's. Maybe low 80's if it's lucky. Similar to the rating for Captain Marvel. Kinda sucks that it's lower than Antman and the Wasp right off the bat.

This is the typical Rotten Tomatoes illusion at work. I was happy the movie was good, but then I watched some of the “positive” reviews and they’re all basically like “It was entertaining, but mediocre” which of course yields a “fresh” rating.
Case in point…

As usual I wouldn't put any stock in that. Their rating system is an acquired taste. Someone could write a 5 page essay about a film being the greatest film they've ever seen; someone else could write a two word review of the same film "it sucks" and the rating would average out to 50%.
All I hope is I get to see it in a theater.

Another mediocre Marvel film critics go easy on. You read the reviews and many talk about the third act sucks, the villain sucks etc but it’s fun I guess so thumbs up. Why accept mediocrity? No reason why ScarJo’s swan song as BW shouldn’t have been as good as something like The Dark Knight or Logan

Another mediocre Marvel film critics go easy on. You read the reviews and many talk about the third act sucks, the villain sucks etc but it’s fun I guess so thumbs up. Why accept mediocrity? No reason why ScarJo’s swan song as BW shouldn’t have been as good as something like The Dark Knight or Logan The MCU and RT seemed to have formed a symbiotic relationship. A 6/10 average score is certified ‘fresh’. If a rival film site used 7/10 as a requirement for approval then the MCU would be over by now. |

What actor would trash a fellow actor like this? Johannsson didn't write or direct the movie. She must have turned him down or jealous of the big bucks MCU actors are pulling down.

You know what doesn't make sense to me? That the MCU would release this movie right before the final episode of Loki. I mean, that's going to have some impact right? Instead of people talking about the final episode of Loki they'll be focusing on Black Widow. Just a weird business decision. Had they delayed release for even just a week this wouldn't be an issue.
