There was this crappy horror/thriller called "Dream House" from about ten years ago. I was surprised to find out it was directed by Jim Sheridan, a great director.

I know Carrey can be ...a bit out there. ty! Cable guy was original written for Chris Farley. Damn that would have been a VERY DIFFERENT movie if Farley had played him. Apparently pretty well I’m assuming since they were gonna work on another movie together that ended up getting cancelled.

Wes Craven - Music of the Heart good one, it does seem to be something he'd never be involved in

Inspector Gadget David Kellogg. I’m surprised he was even allowed to direct after Cool As Ice the Vanilla Ice movie.
Assassin’s Creed Justin Kurzel. He directed 2015’s Macbeth and was very shocked to learn he directed Assassin’s Creed cause it was unbelievable he couldn’t make it work.

Also The Snowtown Murders, which is easily his best movie imo. One of the most realistic serial killer movies ever made, if not the most realistic.

He also made the semi-biopic about 50 Cent starring 50n Cent called "Get Rich or Die Tryin'." Better than Dream House, but still a big step down from his previous career.

And the winner is...
John Huston, who directed such golden age classics such as The Maltese Falcon and The Treasure Of The Sierra Madre, directed a Canadian-made horror thriller from 1980 called Phobia. How in the hell did he ever get involved with that one?

How in the hell did he ever get involved with that one? At least Huston rebounded with The Dead (1987), which was a terrific film.
