I've never loved Charles Laughton, but The Night of the Hunter. Wow.

And the winner is... John Huston, who directed such golden age classics such as The Maltese Falcon and The Treasure Of The Sierra Madre, directed a Canadian-made horror thriller from 1980 called Phobia. How in the hell did he ever get involved with that one? Annie was the one that surprised me.

I was surprised to learn that Paul Verhoeven directed Showgirls.

William Freidkin. You know for such an amazingly talented director like Friedkin, he's sure made his share of questionable films.

Warcraft Duncan Jones? Duncan, as much of a fan as he said he was of the games it really questioned and surprised me how he was able to only make such a mediocre movie. After Moon and Source Code it seemed like he was a great choice. Fantasy just doesn’t work for him I guess?

William Freidkin. You know for such an amazingly talented director like Friedkin, he's sure made his share of questionable films. He has, but at least all the rest have some shade of Freidkin's talent. Even the laughable and boring 1990 horror movie about a killer tree. Jade even has a great chace scene on Lombard Street that is worthy of his talent, even if nothing else in the movie is.

Have you seen Bug? I thought that was a pretty decent movie from him.

It is his 4th best movie imo. I have seen every movie he has directed, even that Sonny and Cher abortion from the 1960s.

Daniel Stern directed Rookie of the Year. His only credit as a director.
Bill Duke directed Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit.
Kathryn Bigelow - Point Break.

William Freidkin. The Brink's Job was another odd choice for Friedkin. The material was so beneath him.

Not to mention he also directed Porky's. True. I couldn’t get into Porky’s. I need to watch it again at some point. Why? Porky's is just plain stupid. But yeah, Black Christmas and Porky's? Can it get more opposite?
