Can't believe the Yankees score. The bullpen allowed 7 runs in the 9th??? Chapman most likely will not be selected for the all-star game. There were some crazy games yesterday. Cubs were up 7-0 on the Brewers after a half inning and then were outscored 15-0 the rest of the way. It was a miserably night here in NYC. I see the Mets gave up 20 (!!!!) freaking runs, 20-2. I couldn't think of a more lopsided loss for the Mets.

In April-May, he tossed 20 innings, giving up just 2 runs (1 earned), 6 hits (62 ABs) with 38 Ks and looked as sharp as ever. In 8.2 June innings, he has given up 11 earned runs and has only fanned 11 batters. Yuck. Whatever malaise has befallen the Yankees has been contagious throughout their team. Just a total disaster for NY baseball last night.

The rule about a pitcher batting for himself in an A.L. game should be changed to let him (cough, Ohtani) stay in the game as the DH if he's lifted. Is there a rule that allows a fielder to replace the DH position, or the replacement has to be some player has not enter the game yet? I am not sure.

That game was unwatchable. Worst announcing i have ever encountered. YouTube should not be allowed to cover Baseball. They had 5 announcers all talking at the same time and they were not even at the game. They were sitting on a sofa in the studio. The entire game they referred to Taylor Trammell as Tyler Trammell. At least the Mariners won. Shouldn't you be happy as your guys won the game. I'm happy they won but I was unable to enjoy the game. I pay $25 a month for MLBtv. And I don't appreciate them blacking out these YouTube games and forcing me to wTvh it there and not see the M's broadcast.

It doesn't let me this season. I used to be able to. Its not on MLBtv and KIRO is blacked out on the internet during games. They also blackout Seahawks broadcasts.

The DH must be selected prior to the game, and that selected hitter must come to bat at least one time -- unless the opposing team changes pitchers prior to that point. A team that chooses not to select a DH prior to a game is barred from using a DH for the rest of that game. A player who enters the game in place of the DH -- either as a pinch-hitter or a pinch-runner -- becomes the DH in his team's lineup thereafter. If a player serving as the DH is later used on defense, he continues to bat in his same lineup spot. But for the rest of the game, his team cannot use a DH to bat in place of the pitcher. A team is also barred from using a DH for the rest of the game if the pitcher moves from the mound to another defensive position, a player pinch-hits for any other player and then becomes the pitcher, or the current pitcher pinch-hits or pinch-runs for the DH. It's not clear about whether a fielder can be replaced and move to DH. Maybe if he keeps his spot in the lineup?
