I like many of them. Both fast food and regular restaurants. But my favorite is probably Texas Roadhouse with Olive Garden coming in a close second. What's your favorite?

Tippecanoe Place Restaurant in South Bend In., (Notre Dame U.). Its in the old Studebaker Mansion. We used to make the drive several times a year to eat there when we were still in the Chicago area. Of course if Notre Dame was playing a football game , you couldn't get reservations. The food was excellent and the setting was very elegant.

Both of those are good. We don't eat out much, but our favorites are local places. A small place that serves po'boys with the chef's own unique spin. My favorite is the fried shrimp po'boy with a slice of polenta and a unique slaw, tomato and provolone and a side of fried okra. Also a local Italian place that serves wood fired pizzas and excellent pastas. A great local, family run Chinese place and a local Mexican place.

Local Greek restaurant, food is always well-prepared, service is on point, never had a bad experience. Around here the chain restaurants are poor to mediocre, not sure why but they are not good. The best chain restaurant around here is Chilis, consistent, good service, well-prepared food. Texas Roadhouse is okay. Even the McDonalds are crappy compared to everywhere else I've been. Most of the rest are not good. The Chinese restaurants are gross.

Always have to go here for burgers and pickles when I'm back in NJ. It's been there 60 years. Closer to home now, Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood TX

I'm not a fan of restaurants (I can make better stuff at home). My one exception was the Flaming Grill in Manville, NJ, a Chinese buffet restaurant where you could get loads of virtually anything. The last time we were there: March 1, 2020. The place was, as usual, packed. It's still there, for takeout. But I'm guessing it'll never really be the same.

I know what you mean about it never being the same. Our favorite Chinese buffet was a place here called Mama Gardens. After Covid hit, they closed the buffet, but you could still order carry out. Now the buffet is back open, but we just won't go. Still too much sickness out there for us to feel comfortable.

Peter Luger's in Brooklyn is an experience in and of itself. So damn good! There is a seafood place right on the beach in Seaside Park, NJ called Mike's Atlantic Bar & Grill that's a favorite of my wife and I.

20 yo me would gobble them up and then go out partying all night then work the next day. 30 yo me would gobble them up and sleep it off. 40 yo me would gobble them up and regret it for 2 days. 50 yo me would order salmon and broccoli, and wish all the previous versions of me had done the same.

Zenkichi in Williamsburg. Japanese small plates with the best ambience I've ever experienced.
Atera in NYC.
Katsu-Ya in Los Angeles.
K-Pauls in New Orleans (although there are "better" places, this one just holds a special place in my heart).

A good friend of mine swears by that place. I've never been, not really my cup of tea as I don't eat meat outside of tasting menus or when I'm completely sloshed, like on Sunday when I ate the Italian hero that my beautiful friend had acquired and brought to my house. It wasn't from Convivium, but it was from another solid Italian deli in the area.

รlive Garden is my fave too. I also love Red Lobster, P.F. Changs, Smokey Bones, and Red Robin. Unfortunately, they closed the Red Robin nearby me. ๐ญ
