Bought The Goonies 4K on Saturday but haven’t watched it yet. Tonight seems ideal now.

Whose directing the next Lethal Weapon?

He wasn't an auteur director but I think that was his strength--the Omen or Superman--he did the job required and in the case of those films--if he hadn't treated it more seriously--it could have been a joke.
He came out of television and unlike Spielberg--he spent a lot of years in it so his directing of actors was more confident. And on Superman he had to make the main story seriously--the Smallville stuff really shows the value of taking that approach.
Also the funny story where he told the kid auditioning for the Omen to kick him in the ankle as hard as he could and the kid really got into it, to the point where he had to be stopped. Also he refused to drop a bowl of live goldfish off the balcony, using painted sardines instead.

I think vits is referring to the comment being "insensitive." If that is what is referring to, I don't know Richard Donner personally and so...

He was always a director who brought a sense of craftsmanship and confidence to his best work.

I think vits is referring to the comment being "insensitive." Well I'm sorry that he died, I dunno how that was "insensitive" though. I know he was set to direct the next Lethal Weapon movie, so I think it's a relevant question to ask.

Not much of a fan overall, but he is responsible for one of my favorite movies and favorite movie sequels and for that I will be forever grateful.

I don't know for sure if that is what he was referring to, but it could sort of be seen as going to someone's funeral that baked you brownies and the first thing you ask when you get there is "who's going to make the brownies now?"

Whose directing the next Lethal Weapon? I wouldn't hold my breath that that movie is even gonna happen. Danny Glover is decrepit now.

I’ll always be grateful for two of the best comic book movies ever made: Superman 1-2 (The Donner Cut)
