I’m not even really a fan of Dorff and he’s speaking some truth here. The guy has been in Hollywood for years and clearly sees what’s happening. Hollywood is trying to meet a checklist that really NO ONE gives a shit about except for some idiots on Twitter. I also don’t blame him for thinking Black Widow looks like shit. It looks like a typical cookie cutter Marvel movie and as someone who has defended Marvel for a long time I’m definitely starting to see why people don’t like it. I could barely even finish Falcon And The Winter Soldier, Loki felt like a chore to get through even from the first episode and Eternals looks like CRAP!!! I really wish we could see stuff like the early 2000’s Marvel stuff. They may not have been perfect, but at least they didn’t feel like cookie cutter movies. Also a message to Hollywood: QUIT TRYING TO PLEASE TWITTER!!! YOU’RE NEVER GOING TO!!!!

Marvel is far from my favorite, but they make money. MCU films are the most profitable films being made right now. Black Window is tracking at 80-90 million opening right now. If that holds it'll be the biggest opening for a film since the pandemic started. All signs indicate these films are gonna continue to make money, and truthfully Hollywood better hope so because they are basically the only movies keeping Cinemas afloat. Without them I'm pretty sure movie theaters would implode.

Basically, actor declares he won't work for a franchise that were unlikely to offer him a job, and prefers to work for someone he has yet to discover and hopes they offer him a job .

Marvel is far from my favorite, but they make money. Disney is so big that it cannot ever be out of business. It really does not matter what audiences prefer--there's no choice.
This is what everyone is noticing.
Disney and Marvel are like Lenin posters in Soviet-era Moscow. Who really wanted to see Lenin's face on every building? I bet most people did not. And Disney is dictating what people should watch because they dominate the media channels. They control newspapers, magazines, tv, internet... so you can't avoid what they peddle easily.
In truth, Black Widow--no one wanted it. That's why they didn't make it 10 years ago. No interest. So they are making things no one really wants--and boosting it with ridiculous ballyhoo beyond anything of merit.
Everyone sees it. They are thinking: why are we getting all this less than compelling media?
It's because these companies are not making decisions to be popular with audiences. They don't care. They are guided by ridiculous political concerns.

He dodged a speeding bullet in BLADE.
The "bullet time" effect was first used in that--a year before the Matrix.
The only thing I find a let down is the appearance of the Blood God.
I wish he turned into a monster or a monster appeared and ate Frost and then Blade fought it.
The blood tornado didn't seem all that impressive but him turning into a T-1000 kind of thing--it's ok but a monster would have been better. Especially after they kept talking about how awful it was and those flying bat creatures are unleashed.
But I'd rather watch it than one of the cookie cutter Marvel movies now.

Today I took hours walk, along my main high street. I saw one ad for Black Widow on the side of the bus. One for Luca. A couple for Cruella. Considering the road I walked along sees a bus every 5 minutes or so each way, that's not much. I saw no posters for any other Disney product. I bet I would have seen more Lenin posters than that if I was in Soviet Russia. I bet the Disney ads weren't put up free by the Government. I can guarantee if I defaced one I wouldn't be sent to a gulag or worse. Dumb comparison. I think you are getting Disney confused with Fox. Dominate newspapers? They own none. The TV? Considering they now have their own pay TV channel and are very protective of their IP, that's bull. The internet? Do they own the dominant forces on the internet? No. No ownership of Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, Amazon etc. I do. So that's not no-one Wow millions of people are so stupid Everyone! Really? They are a business. Primarily there to make money. What company would make something people don't want? Of course they care. They care if the public wants their product. It makes no sense to a business if what they make is not popular, wanted or if it alienates the public. More thought, less blinkered keyboard mashing,perhaps.

When Disney stopped allowing FOX movies to be shown in retro theaters--none of the theater managers would go on record by name to criticize Disney. Why? What were they afraid of?
Secondly, Disney gets money from government--surely you knew this? Filming in Georgia or Canada. The government gives them taxpayer money. They aren't free enterprise. They get subsidies.
Disney owns ABC, ESPN, and lots of other media holdings. FOX sold their movie and tv division to Disney.
Disney is interested in spreading social propaganda messages. That's why they have erased white faces from representation--and they absolutely 100% oppose the philosophy of the company founder. Disney wanted to celebrate US history and Western culture--and the owners hate it.
What normal business operates like that? Why would a business seek to alienate its original audiences?
Just because you wanted Black Widow doesn't mean you are representing the majority. It would have made sense to make it 10 years ago.
They had women-led action movies then. Angelina Jolie did one around that time.
These movies suck because people recognize that they are so tightly controlled, no true artistic or creative enthusiasm exists. These are movies designed by executive committee.
Good art is not made that way.

I don’t mind at all if he bashes the way Hollywood is going or the way it’s been or things like that but I roll my eyes at him putting down an actresses work based purely on the studio it comes from. Leave Scarlett out of it. Saying he’s embarrassed for her…like how do you respond to that? He’s basically calling her a sellout. What a schmuck!
