As far as output, Lewton is no different from any other producer. He is going to have hits and misses.
The hits are some of the finest horror movies produced anywhere at any time and the few misses are better than you will find in the other major studios.
Well worth it? You betcha!
Start with the best: The Body Snatcher, I Walked With A Zombie and The Seventh Victim.

I dunno if this is a lame comment but,
I 'd recommend seeing cat people. But only if you watch Marnie right after it. Cuz they have similar sexual themes. Which is what i read in a film book.
What i'm saying is in my opinion you don't really get alot out of cat people on it's own. At least f or me.
