It's kind of a non-question. One sucks and is stupid, the other is a classic.

Rear Window is one of my all time favorite films so I’m this case no contest. Disturbia was an okay film but I have no interest in watching it again.

Shocking question! Ha!
I prefer Disturbia over Rear Window for one main reason and that is I cannot stand Jimmy Stewart. He is by far my least favorite major Hollywood actor. His whole cornpone schtick is gross. Does he ever get slapped in a movie? He's so satisfied with himself and he's not even a nice person. He treats Kim Novak awful in Vertigo.
This and the fact that I find Shia Lebouf very attractive and interesting. He's a likable dude. I even went to see Honeyboy specifically because of him and I rarely do that with contemporary stars.
If it weren't for the lead actor, I would probably reverse my pick. Disturbia is well-done and engrossing. Rear Window is well-done and engrossing and the whole courtyard set-up is fascinating. But I cannot stand Jimmy Stewart.

Why did you not do the tv remake? I guess Rear Window. I remembered being really on edge when the neighbor caught him spying on him. Disturbia wasn’t bad, but the fact they tried to say it was an original movie really bothered me.

Opening scene of Disturbia was probably more compelling than anything in Rear Window. No doubt James Stewart was your typical well dressed vanilla 50s man with a stick up his ass while Shia and his onscreen widow mother at the mercy of serial killer is what a thriller is all about.

I enjoyed both, but REAR WINDOW stands head and shoulders above DISTURBIA.

I like both of them, but they are not in the same league. Rear Window is a masterpiece.

Rear Window has one of the most famous movies stories of all-time and has been parodied multiple times and is one of the most famous movies ever made. How did the makers of Disturbia think they would get away with that?

Body Double is actually more similar to Rear Window than Disturbia. Not true although body double is great and has some similar elements

Body Double is actually more similar to Rear Window than Disturbia. I am lost on that one. Can you explain? Disturbia has almost the exact story as Rear Window. Body Double is Rear Window and Vertigo combined, isn't it? I haven't seen it in a long time.

They may not have said that it was an original movie, but I know they gave no credit to Hitchcock and whoever wrote the story Rear Window was based on. Truthfully though I’m not sure why they were looking to ask for credit since I’m almost positive Fright Night and stuff like that never credited Hitchcock.

Rear Window
I've only heard bad things about Disturbia, and no matter how much I try to watch different movies from the last 40 years, I keep becoming disappointed (and should probably stop)

A 6 foot tall 180ish pound serial killer who we're supposed to believe can disguise himself as a 5'0 110ish pound redhead in a black cocktail dress.
