the sequel to The Curse of the Black Pearl which opened three years later and broke the then opening weekend record and was the third film to cross the 1 billion dollar mark. The film got mixed reviews from critics but was well liked by audiences. I really enjoy the film has it gives our three characters strong story arcs, has terrific action and humor, a great score by Hans Zimmer, and introduced a fantastic villain in Davy Jones. Unfortunately it was followed by the rather lethargic overly glum At World's End

I love it almost as much as the first one. The scale and the action is outstanding. Davy Jones as portrayed by Bill Nighy was a memorable villain and the CGI for him aged fantastically. Admittedly there are some segments that go on for a bit longer than necessary. The ending is an excellent cliffhanger.
It seems like the franchise became a punching bag after the main trilogy was finished but I still remember how hyped everyone was for AT WORLD'S END after DEAD MAN'S CHEST like how people get excited over a Marvel movie today.

Lots of fun. The best of the sequels by a considerable distance.

It may not be the “best” (the first is a much fuller experience), but it’s my favorite. It flies by and Davy Jones is a truly legendary villain.

I've only seen it once, but I remember liking it enough to say I liked it. However, the problems of the subsequent sequels start to impact the franchise with this film.

I've always really enjoyed it. Not as good as the first, but a strong follow up.

I think this sequel actually surpasses its predecessor. Depp was born to play the role of Jack Sparrow and I really enjoyed the story, villains and action set pieces. Best entry in the franchise for me.

Almost as good as the first one. Just an iconic and entertaining sequel.

I standby my statement that the POTC films are the Transformers to Disney's Paramount. Stupid, bigoted, excessive, unfunny, CGI-overloaded, and represent everything wrong with movies today, but who cares because they make money.

This movie gets a lot of flack, but I find it to be extremely entertaining and features one of the most visually creative villains in movie history. Bill Nighy is awesome in this movie and his entrance is up there with the great character entrances in movies imo.
Along with the Kraken, Hans Zimmer's score, some fabulous action scenes and great art direction, make-up and visual effects. The movies is also wonderfully atmospheric.
8/10

As long as no one is forcing your head down to a TV screen showing POTC movies then I can't comprehend what you're crying about. I find Johnny Depp much like Keanu Reeves, both actors that should've been left on the scrap heap of Hollywood revived with annoying one note ridiculous franchise characters Jack Sparrow/John Wick tedious, but I still acknowledge that people sometimes may like things that I may not like. Grow up baby Phoenix big bad people from the fairytales like other things you don't.
