Haven't watched it myself but figured I'd start this thread so we don't inadvertently put spoilers in other threads.

I enjoyed it. There are like 4 males with any real impact on the story so it is a chickfest.
Quick line thrown out by the baddie he picks up the trash tossed by others (little girls) & makes use of them.
The after credit scene was sad

Haven’t seen it, but I’m hearing a lot of really negative stuff about Taskmaster.

No. Everyone knew her gender going in. That wasn’t a problem. Ive heard she A) Never even speaks B) Is only a one dimensional henchman C) Has very little screen time.

Taskmaster has one decent fight scene in the beginning of the movie then doesn't do anything memorable at all for the rest of it. Few other shor fight scenes here and there that are totally unremarkable. Says like one line at the very end. Taskmaster is pretty much just a thug in this movie. The movie itself was pretty solid, better than majority of blockbusters out there. But compared to other MCU movies it was pretty underwhelming. Definitely below average. Still preferred it to Captain Marvel, Birds of Prey or WW84. It's kinda hard to judge because it didn't feel like a Marvel movie. More like a cross between Mission Impossible and a Fast and Furious movie.

It’s kind of funny how Marvel will often announce a villain I’ve never heard of, I’ll then read about said villain and think “hey, that sounds pretty good! Could be a great villain!”: Mandarin, Ghost, Maleketh, Crossbones, etc. Then I see the movie and realize the potential is wasted. Not always, but pretty often. Taskmaster really seemed like she could’ve been really memorable. Sounds like that isn’t the case…. Again. Sigh.

I didn’t really care for the movie. My fiancée said it best “it’s an action movie, but not a Marvel movie.” I didn’t know going into it it would be about the family drama. I swear that scene at the table went on longer than it needed. If this was Black Widow’s final outing there should have been more action scenes with her. I swear though she mainly just had dialogue.
Taskmaster was disappointing. I honestly never really had a problem with it being a girl, but it seems to me that anyone can take up the suit and become taskmaster if they wanted. For a villain who everyone really likes she was really wasted here. Same with David Harbour. They barely gave him anything to do and I was actually looking forward to him.
Honestly I’m glad we skipped this in theaters. Probably one of the weaker Marvel movies and was NOT a good final movie for Black Widow. If this had come out before Endgame I would have said it was good enough for her, but seriously the fact it’s her final outing really brings this down. I really hope Shang Chi is better.
6/10

Also, for a movie that's supposed to be as grounded as a spy-movie, this movie completely overuses cgi.
I understand using cgi for huge action pieces but they even used a CGI Black Widow when all she was doing was grappling with Taskmaster. That's something easily done by stunt doubles. Or using CGI when a car turns a sharp corner. It just seemed incredibly lazy.

It's as if the makers don't like comic book stories.
The way Taskmaster is first shown in comics--you expect William Smith to be under the costume.
Tailor-made character for someone like him.

She also survived so she can be used again for good or bad.

I liked the movie but...
The whole "serum that you only have to breathe to get over brainwashing" angle was a little dumb.
The "break your nose so you don't smell pheromones" thing was very dumb.
The "they were wearing masks and pretending to be each other" thing was the dumbest of all.
That last one brings me back to the movie Face/Off. I remember watching it as a kid and knowing that it made no sense. Just because you switch faces, how does it change the fact that they have completely different heights, builds, voices, etc.?
The action was great, the cast was great, I liked the family stuff, and I even liked Taskmaster (I sort of guessed the reveal before they...well, revealed it). I hope to see Pugh in more MCU stuff. She was superb.

Like, you really found it easier to film Sam Jackson against a green screen and CGI in a room rather than just shoot inside a room?

I will say this though, contrary to what some reviews out there say, I never felt like Black Widow was pushing any sort of feminist message throughout the movie.

You'll only get a feminist connection if you're specifically looking to view it from such an angle. Though I do admit there seemed to be a very noticeable effort put into making Scarjo look less attractive in this flick.

So how does this one rank against the rest of the MCU? Mid Tier? Bottom Tier? Top Tier?
