I also hope they go to the source -- Jim Morrison. There's a lot of interviews (audio, text, even a little bit of video) to get a better understanding, since many of the books (and of course oliver's shitty movie) are inaccurate, 2nd or 3rd hand, and refuted by those close... Jim's siblings are still alive, and so are John and Robby, so I hope they don't select the flavor-of-the-week "musicians" of today. They did this with a few before, and it seems they're repeating some cliche someone else said.

There's also a new documentary about Val Kilmer who portrayed Jim Morrison in Oliver Stone's biopic, 'The Doors' (1991).

LOL, I thought for a second it was the old "Morrison Lives" stuff that was popular when the book "No One Here Gets Out Alive" came out. Interesting theory but if you look at the last photos of Morrison, he didn't exactly look like the picture of health. He went from his good looks to bloated and pale almost overnight. A heart attack, not a surprise
Never seen much about Morrison's siblings talking about their brother. I don't think he had a lot to do with them after he went to UCLA. Not sure how many of his ex-gf's are still around. I know the biggest fountain of info, Pamela Courson is dead.

I'm afraid not, though reviews of it have been breaking online since yesterday. I think it's called 'Val' (2021) and includes footage shot by Kilmer during his deterioration in mental and physical health. Turner Classic Movies [TCM] in the U K screened a double-bill of 'Heat' (1995) and 'Red Planet' (2000) this week, both featuring Kilmer, so I recorded both movies to rewatch.

I have a concert where Jim mentions his brother. "My little brother told me you can tell if someone's a real smoker by how they hold it"... Jim, Andy, and Pam played soccer with a beer can after playing at The Hollywood Bowl. Andy hung out with him quite a bit, especially when Jim's family moved to Coronado. Anne visited him with her then husband, and Jim's baby nephew Dylan. There's also pictures of another time Jim's sister stayed with Jim and Pam.. Salli Stevenson interviewed Jim and asked why he put down "Family: Dead" on his first Elektra biography, and said he didn't want to involve them, but mentions having a brother and sister. And there are interviews of his siblings, and Jim's father right before he died. You'd know this if you went to..... the source.
