Black Widow villain Taskmaster: MCU origin vs comic origin

One of the leading antagonists in the new Black Widow movie is Taskmaster. MCU redesigned the character although there are still a lot of similarities. But the origin and source of powers are distinctly different from the comic book character.

Any Marvel fans here familiar with the comic book character? What do you think of the way the MCU changed the character? Do you have a preference? Thoughts? Feelings?
