The general cosensus is that TV's worst sitcom is MY MOTHER, THE CAR. But IMO, the TV Razzie goes to both REBA and THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE. Compared to them, MMTC was a masterpiece! What the hell is so funny about grossly neurotic and stupid people?
I'll never understand how an intelligent actress such as Julia Louis-Dreyfus could deign to star as such an irritating character. I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the cast wanted to kill her!
As for REBA--ugh!! The titular star can't act; she can't sing, and her overblown Texas accent sets my teeth on edge! The rest of the cast are just morons. In fact, the only character I remotely like is the little boy, and he gets far less screen time than the annoying "adults".
Granted, there are some sitcoms like THE KING OF QUEENS and MAD ABOUT YOU that I've never seen, so I'm in no position to judge them. But IMO, the last truly great TV comedy was THE GOLDEN GIRLS.
I realize that many posters will disagree with me, but it sure feels good to vent!

The six worst sitcoms of all time in my personal opinion (Of course its based on the sitcoms i have seen. I am sure there are many awful sitcoms i have not seen)
Everybody Loves Raymond Yes Dear The King Of Queens Coupling (The American version) The British original is brilliant The Big Show Show Two and a Half Men
Now i have to say i completely disagree with you that The Golden Girls was the last truly great tv comedy. But yes Reba and The New Adventures of Old Christine was pretty bad.
Mad About You i think was a pretty good sitcom.

For the record: McEntire is from Oklahoma.
Otherwise the criticism holds up.

To each his own. “2 Broke Girls”would be on my all time bad list.

There is no way you could limit the number of truly awful network tv sitcoms to a mere six.

My 3 very favorrites are Everybody Loves Raymond, The King of Queens, and Mom.
The Golden Girls was ok for a short time, now I wouldn't go near it. Same for Friends. Forget Reba, not a chance. I don't like Last Man Standing. 2 Broke Girls is execrable. Two and A Half Men I don't like.
But I can relax with The Goldbergs, Young Sheldon, and Mike & Molly.

Back when I was a kid (when dinosaurs roamed the earth ), there was a very early sitcom called THE GOLDBERGS. It was about a nice, middle-class Jewish family who lived in an apartment in the Bronx. Later in the series, the family moved to a house in a Connecticut suburb. The only thing it had in common with the later sitcom was the title.

A lot of the sitcoms from the 1960s-early '70s were silly junk, but possibly the worst was a piece of dinosaur excrement called It's About Time. Created by Sherwood Schwartz, who also produced two hit shows, the dopey Gilligan's Island and the corny The Brady Bunch (as well as most of the spinoff TV movies and series of those shows), he hit rock bottom with this sitcom about a pair of astronauts who travel through a time warp and land in prehistoric times, where they befriend a caveman and cavewoman couple. What made this show even worse than the aforementioned My Mother the Car was the casting of the caveman with one of the most repulsive performers to ever infect a TV screen--"comedian" Joe E. Ross. Not only physically ugly and possessing an irritating voice and catchphrase ("Ooh, ooh!"), he was apparently very difficult to work with; his co-stars were reportedly disgusted by his boorishness, and also by his unwillingness to learn his lines (resulting in the frequent "ooh-ooh" when he suddenly remembered them again). Married at least eight times (maybe as many as 11 times), mostly to ex-prostitutes he met at strip clubs, he put a lot of people off with his sleazy-rather-than-funny nightclub standup act. Despite this, he kept getting cast in TV sitcoms (The Phil Silvers Show and Car 54, Where Are You?). It's About Time was a ratings flop and only lasted a season, which was probably a relief to costar Imogene Coca, who couldn't stand working with Ross because she was so sickened by his obnoxiousness.
I love Everybody Loves Raymond (I know a lot of people who are like those characters) and recently discovered Mom and enjoy that, too. King of Queens could have been a good show with a non-mean wife.

Reba was atrocious. It put me right off the woman herself, her real songs etc.
2 Broke Girls was annoying, had nothing really going for it and realistically shouldn't have lasted more than two seasons.
According to Jim is one that hasn't been mentioned yet. After catching bits of it here and there over the years I managed to sit through one entire episode and laughed once, and that wasn't due to any of Jim Belushi's "antics", but something the little boy said.
Growing Up Fisher. That blind man was a danger to himself, his family and anyone near him.

I can’t believe the hate for Reba. Have you people actually watched the show? Or are you just assuming you’d hate it?

I can’t believe the hate for Reba. Have you people actually watched the show? Or are you just assuming you’d hate it? I can't speak for anyone else, but yes--I've seen it. And I can't understand how it even got on the air, let alone last 5 seasons! TV standards have certainly sunk low!
