I think Reba had 6 seasons. OK, but that was 5 too many, IMO!

Hello, Marianne48.
I agree completely with your assessment of IT'S ABOUT TIME. I only saw it a couple of times, and it stank far worse than MY MOTHER THE CAR. And I looked up Joe E. Ross on Wiki, and it's true that he was impossible to work with--an actor's and director's nightmare!
That said, I really liked CAR 54, WHERE ARE YOU? It had a real "Noo Yawk" feeling about it, and there was a terrific chemistry among Ross and pre-"Munsters" Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis. I wish it lasted longer than 2 seasons.
BTW, I love your description of IT'S ABOUT TIME as a "piece of dinosaur excrement". Goes right up there with my description of Hallmark Channel's Christmas movies as a "24-hour puke-a-thon". Agree?

For the record: McEntire is from Oklahoma. Otherwise the criticism holds up. Honey, I don't care if she's from Mars! IMO, she stinks!! BTW, your avatar is adorable.

According To Jim
The classic white male buffoon as father, a witty and far too attractive wife and annoyingly clever kids. The total cliché of a white suburb family sitcom.

That show was actually a remake of GILLIGAN'S ISLAND, but with a different setting.

I knew of this show and finally got to see an episode a couple years ago on either ME TV or ANTENNA. Dom Deluise's character decided to try wearing a toupee to see if he had better luck with the ladies. I liked it but I'm a big DD fan. That's the only episode I've ever seen though. I know it is still on one of those channels like maybe once a week. I noticed they kept moving it around to odd hours. Shocked no one has mentioned The Ropers. Two more I did not like was Superior Donuts and Dear John, both Judd Hirsch vehicles. I like Taxi though.

Two more I did not like was Superior Donuts and Dear John, both Judd Hirsch vehicles. I like Taxi though. This one is pretty awful, but probably not even close to the worst. DeLuise must have needed money badly to agree to do this one, though. Dear John may be the worst sitcom to star a name as big as Hirsch's, and even more so since it debuted so close after the demise of the excellent Taxi. Hirsch did what he could to save that stinker, but even his comedic skills weren't up to a task that impossible. I love Bluerisk's summation of that bit of detritus. Not only an unfunny cliche-fest (the only slightly amusing episode was the one where Jim is on trial before God, and it was mostly a paunchy Erik Estrada as the devil that made it funny), but it cemented the opinion I've long had that Jim Belushi was a talentless hack who coasted on his late brother's name to get as far as he did. As for Dusty's Trail, the only thing I can say about it is that it completely wasted the talents of Ivor Francis, a fine and funny character performer.

The short-lived sitcom about the Geico caveman is surely near the top of that list.

The War At Home(2005-2007) was pretty bad, a very poor attempt at trying to replicate the shock value of Married with Children and the quirk of Titus, perhaps the only thing it had going for it was Rami Malek - I think he was the only likeable character out of the whole cast.

Mr T & Tina from 1976. Only lasted 6 episodes. “Me and the Chimp” from 1972. Speaks for itself.

“Me and the Chimp” from 1972. Was that the original draft for BJ and the Bear?

“Me and the Chimp” from 1972. Was that the original draft for BJ and the Bear? No, it was an awful sitcom that starred Ted Bessel, a very likeable light comic actor who'd co-starred with Marlo Thomas in That Girl (which looks like Shakespeare next to this). It pretty much killed Bessel's career in front of the camera, and he decamped to doing mostly directing for the remainder of his life--he died, sadly, at only 57 years old. BJ and the Bear was based (extremely loosely) on the Clint Eastwood 'Any Which Way' film series, copying the premise of an adventurous interstate trucker and his anthropoid buddy (an orangutan in Clint's case, a chimpanzee for the TV series). It came later than Me and the Chimp, the Eastwood film debuting in 1978, and BJ hitting the airwaves in 1979. MatC's plot revolves around a dentist and his family, who, some whichaway or another, come into ownership of a chimpanzee who's been booted from the space program--a common problem that beset many average American families back in the early 1970's.

While I agree that the Hitler "comedy" was the lowest in bad taste, IMO, POOCHINSKI showed promise. The bulldog is really cute, and the basic premise was probably taken from the successful movie O, HEAVENLY DOG, starring Chevy Chase, Jane Seymour, and Benji.

I really enjoyed O, HEAVENLY DOG in my youth, but I've never seen the TV series you mentioned. However, I'm still confident that my choice would be deemed a top ten choice by most people.
