'Sources telling me Phillies talk with Rangers continues re: Gibson with RHP Spencer Howard very much involved in talks. But possibility of packaging Kennedy/Gibson is also very much in mix, too.'Howard used to be our #1 prospect - his ERA is hovering around 6.00 and he can't pitch more than 1/3 of an inning - he blows - but he did just turn 25 and Gibson is 33 years old and he'd be at the backend of our rotation at 4 or 5 Meh. I'd try to unload Scott Howard for a bigger fish
Although it looks like Gibby is having a decent year - ERA under 3...

Damn. Wrigleyville will not like this. If Kimbrel records the final out in the World Series while the Cubs WS team is broken up, that will not sit well. And the White Sox bullpen is evil.
How will history treat the 2015-20 Cubs? Yeah, the broke the curse. But this was a solid team, most of the stars were young and the Cubs had the scratch to keep the team together for a while. Now busted up with only one title. And came within an eyelash of not getting that.

Hopefully their fans are grateful and remember them fondly - Just like how I remember my 2008-2011 Phillies - who were supposed to be a Dynasty (and in my heart were a Dynasty )
