I liked the sisters okay, but the twins were annoying. I'm glad they're "leaving Woodsboro behind", though.

Dermot Mulroney joins Scream 6.
As many issues as I had with part 5... I'll probably watch part 6. 😆 Getting out of Woodsboro is intriguing me.

Apparently Neve Campbell is not returning for part 6... I'm a bit surprised. I'd figure she'd keep coming back for the $. We're they going to do her character dirty or what?

Apparently, she wasn't offered enough $. bloody-disgusting.com/movie/3718011/neve-campbell-confirms-she-wont-return-for-scream-6-with-official-statement/Seems a bit pompous to bring up the fact that she was a woman, but sucks that she didn't get paid the amount she wanted. It's kind of a petty reason to leave on the surface but you'd think she would get more for her significance and prominence to the franchise. I'll miss her.

Her story is done... I don't see much reason for her to come back story wise. But I guess she would've if the $ was sweet enough. 5 movies are enough for her arc.
Always a possibility she'll come back for another movie... If they pay her enough.

I think there's plenty of room for more characters to get the spotlight. I'm just wondering if Courteney Cox is coming back now and how'd they utilize her if she does..

Scream 6 star Jenna Ortega says the film will be more bloody and feature the most "violent and aggressive" Ghostface ever.

Ghostface Takes Manhattan? Hell yes. Unless they cop out and set it on a cruise ship for some reason.

I guess the NYC setting is ... fine. I don't really see what that would have to happen, or why it would be seen novel to get the story outside of Woodsboro since the first two sequels already did that, but I do think the city is an underutilized location for slashers. There are a lot of opportunities there.
But I guess this means Emma Roberts will come back somehow. I know they've suggested this in the past, and while I was pretty sure she died in the 4th movie, Wes Craven himself said that it was intentionally left ambiguous. So that would have to be the next killer, I guess, unless they wanna just come up with some new random killer who also wants to insert himself into this series.
Either way, there's a lot of just repeating things and it feels pretty unnecessary... particularly without Sydney... and particularly if they don't find some other horror trope angle to dissect.. which this last one didn't do all that effectively, to me.
Oh well. Maybe it'll be good, but I'd rather see all involved make some other new interesting movie.

Well, I hope that's not true for two reasons 1. If it's supposed to be a twist, we're spoiled 2. I thought Jill being set up to be the new Sidney only to be revealed as the killer and get killed was clever, and bringing her back hurts that movie's ending. I'm also not especially fond of Emma Roberts as an actress. Isn't everyone gunning for Stu/Matthew Lillard to come back? If you're gonna bring back one of the killers, make it him. In any case, I should probably take this as my cue to start avoiding Scream discussions until the movie comes out.

I'm with you on those 2 counts, but I'd be really fucking annoyed if Matthew Lillard came back. He was clearly meant to be dead. Changing that now would just be dumb. I know that these movies can get away with some of these clichés and stuff because they're intended to be reflecting some of those clichés, but bringing him back would just be insulting.

They actually were gonna bring him back for the third one. He'd be leading a group of Ghostfaces from prison. The idea became Kevin Williamson's show The Following. Bringing any of the killers back would be dumb as they seemingly were all meant to be dead (including Jill, who is last shown not moving with her eyes open) but if you put a gun to my head and asked who I'd like to see more of, I'd have to go with him.

I haven't seen it nearly as much as the first few, but according to Wes Craven she was still moving when she was last shown. Of the two I prefer Matthew Lillard's character but his death was pretty fucking clear and unambiguous no matter what Kevin Williamson says. I remember hearing that idea, and I'm glad they didn't use it.

Apparently a "microscopic twitch of the face". www.horrorsociety.com/2011/10/07/does-scream-4-commentary-reveal-possible-scream-5-spoilers/Eh. I feel about Wes' idea the same as you about Kevin's. And without even bringing back Sidney, dusting off her evil cousin is even more pointless.
