Been about 10 years since last seeing either movie. So, me and my boy watched both movies Sunday night. The weight of the movies are on Uma Thurman's shoulders and she really is terrific throughout. Look at the moment when she sees her daughter for the first time; she runs through so many emotions in just a few brief moments. It is also hard to not think about the car accident which came to light a few years ago. David Carradine also excels with Tarantino's dialogue. Volume 1 is the less substantive of the two, still offering a fast paced, violent comic book love letter to Asian cinema. Volume 2, slower paced and less violent, is the more emotionally satisfying. When taken as a single film, it deepens the overall appreciation of both. There are moments that stand out from each, whether it be The Bride having to choose between the flashlight or the mace or the gorgeous sword fight between her and O-Ren. As someone who has been on a Criterion Collection binge lately, it'd be nice to see them release this with both movies as a single feature.

Been years since I've seen those movies, but I like them both. I like the first more than the second, but the second is still good.

I saw those again not too long ago. I think they are both great films. I kinda like 2 more though.
