The Magnificent Seven. One of the greatest casts of all time.
Seven Samurai is a 4 hr black and white movie in japanese. I tried watching it, turned it off halfway. One of the worst movies of all time.

Yeah it is long and has no music, but it's dramatically superior.
I hate the Magnificent Seven.
The scene of the gunfighters serving food to the peasants make me want to throw fava beans at the screen.
They would not do that for real.
They are hardened killers-they would not lower themselves to do that.

Unfortunately, it's a bit of a no brainer.
I do love Mag 7. It's great, but at 8/10, it's no match for the 10/10 Seven Samurai, which is probably in most critic lists of top ten ever films. It's always in my list.
Kind of unfair, but it's the obvious match up.

No contest.
Seven Samurai is a monumental achievement and deserves to be on the list of greatest films of all time. The Magnificent Seven is a watered down Classics Illustrated version, entertaining but ultimately an empty imitation.
