What a train wreck this movie is.
What are your thoughts?
Amy Adams acts circles around everyone and if not for her dedicated and convincing performance, this movie would have been much harder to sit through. Some of the cinematography is nice to look at as well and adds a unique personality to the movie.
Other than that it is just a generic twist after twist Hitchcock rip-off that is poorly directed and has one of the worst supporting cast performances I have seen and a very bad script. Julianne Moore is decent in her one scene though. Gary Oldman, oh, Gary Oldman. Joe Wright directed you to an Oscar win and now to maybe a Razzie win. The less said about Jennifer Jason Leigh's performance the better, not that much can be said about what is basically a non-performance.
3.5/10

I didn't dislike it as much as you, but yeah I mostly agree. Adams was definitely the best thing about it. 4.5/10 for me.

It was a 4.5/10 and then the wannabe serial killer son is revealed in a laughable cliche performance that feels like it is out of a slasher movie parody. That is when it dropped to a terrible movie. I mean the ending makes no sense. The situation should have made her more of a nervous wreck, not less of one. It is shown as being what forces her out of the house and back to a normal life, but in a laughably unconvincing and simplistic way.

Yeah it's pretty bad. Amy Adams was trying but it wasn't enough.
