Sarah. John was always a big nothing, with the exception of T2.

Ironically, Dark Fate is the only flop of the franchise.

Sarah for sure. I feel they kind of botched how badass John Connor should’ve been. His future self looks like a brutal machine killing badass but absolutely none of the main actors captured that same level of machismo.

Sarah Connor
I think keeping future John Connor as a legend that we don't see much was the best way to go, even though my 3rd favorite of the franchise is Salvation.

Stahl's Connor was a roamer and an alienated boy. He wasn't a soldier yet. Bale's Connor was pretty badass. Clarke's Connor was menacing even before being turned into a T-3000.

The Terminator movies never worked without Sarah Connor. She's as vital to the franchise as Arnie. John Connor was merely a plot device.

Bale sort of did look like a brutal machine killing badass but something was missing from his performance.

The Terminator movies never worked without Sarah Connor. She's as vital to the franchise as Arnie. John Connor was merely a plot device. Less or more. However, DARK FATE was the only flop of the franchise, and it featured an aged Sarah Connor played by the same actress of the first two. 28 years since the second entry. Maybe people want John Connor too.

John had his hits but also misses. Each movie's portrayal of Sarah has been good to great and so I might have to say her.

I still don't understand why DARK FATE turned out to be a massive flop.

Sarah Connor, mainly for Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The succeeding films never delivered on the idea of John Connor being the savior of humanity.
