I think I just gained a new appreciation for this movie. I’ve seen it a couple of times in years past but for whatever reason during this latest rewatch so much of the humor landed perfectly for me. Right now I put it up there with Tremors as some of the cream deli cream of B Movies. It did feel a little bit long around the mall sequence and I started to want it to be over…but I still enjoyed it. Also you get to see smokin hot Kari Wuhrer and her smokin hot daughter Scarlett Johansson. Very nice. media.giphy.com/media/r6KMN4Bwm6xBm/giphy.gif

It's a fun movie if you are in the right mood. It is an alright throwback to 1950's Sci-Fi B movies.
I definitely prefer Tremors though. Tremors just has a more fun cast of characters, a better setting, a more creative premise and uses practical effects rather than cgi.
A movie like Tarantula is better too, because it is about the suspense and the tarantula only appears once in a while. Eight Legged Freaks relies more on action and comedy than horror and suspense.

I enjoyed it. It's a good double feature with Arachnophobia.
