I'm suddenly really loving the idea that the MCU films, finally go street level. It's why I've been loving Daredevil and Jessica Jones on Netflix, and now Spidey is bringing a similar flavor, hanging out at his regular house, going to school, and a villain who is dealing with street level real world problems. I wasn't going to rush out to see it, but I have to say, it's really getting to me now. I can't wait.

What are you on about? "Street level"?!
Have you ever read a Spider-Man comic or even seen any of the movies? Dude tends to be swinging between skyscrapers, not running around on foot.

Just FYI, you're on your permanent ignore. I have no clue what you wrote and don't care.

I'm excited for it, but not that much. It looks good, yet that last trailer really didn't impress me.

I mean saving a ferry and a plane falling from the sky isn't really "street level" just smaller scale, like iron man's films or even antman.

Well good grief, I didn't mean every fucking second of the film is street level, but certainly the villain begins that way as a blue collar woker, and a lot of Peter's day to day life is built in that sort of fashion. Just check the ATM robbery scene. It's some street level stuff, which is bad ass.

Me three. They were underwhelming, except of course the under-arm webbing. That left me whelmed.

I actually like the second trailer, despite giving a bit too much away....did not like trailer number 1 though. edit: and I would have seen it in theaters..........but then @weirdraptor made a bet..........and I want those 10 dollars

Don't you hate it when people get hyper-specific over a point of debate that should be well understood based on the context? Without putting words in your mouth, I think I know what you're getting at and I feel similarly. Spider-Man doesn't have to worry about parasitic shadow organizations, international terrorists, rogue AI, interdimensional despots or the fate of the galaxy. Peter's a kid with a good conscious and a fantastic set of powers. His biggest problems in Homecoming are going to be the proverbial "girl next door," an overprotective aunt, and a group of sociopathic malcontents intent on laying waste to the city. And then, of course, there's Tony.

Especially not the Ultimate line, on which all cinematic versions of Peter are primarily based if for nothing else by virtue of Bendis's fingerprints all over them?
