What do you think of this?
It's always been one of the better Dreamworks animated films in my opinion.

Apparently I'm the only animation fan who's never really liked this movie. Just about nothing about it works for me. I don't find it that interesting story wise or character wise. Even worse, I don't find it funny despite the fact it's obviously trying to be constantly. For me, it's always been my least favorite of DreamWork's old 2D films.

Well I'm a big fan of the old Hope and Crosby Road pictures, so I guess I just really appreciated an animated homage to them like this.

I liked it. I miss this Dreamworks era when they did movies like this and Prince of Egypt.

8/10. SOMEDAY OUT OF THE BLUE is one my all-time favorite songs.

I like it, but it's not among my favorite DreamWorks Animation films. The animation and art direction was very colorful and vibrant, and Kenneth Branagh and Kevin Kline have really good chemistry as Miguel and Tulio. The songs aren't as memorable as the ones Elton John and Tim Rice composed for The Lion King, but I find the title song and "It's Tough to be a God" to be really catchy. I guess what the movie is lacking in comparison to other animation greats was "pathos", or the appeal of emotions. It's hard to root for two swindlers to con a civilization out of their gold.
In the end, I'm glad people still remember this movie, although the only reasons for why it's a cult classic is because of the adult humor and Chel.
