As always with the Coverage of the Olympics in Australia - if an Australian isn’t in it and it isn’t gymnastics - good luck watching it. I’ll stick to clips and highlights on the net mostly. TBH, this is the least excited I’ve been for an Olympics probably ever….. I've got a Telstra wifi dongle that wifis streaming services to the tv. A laptop with hdmi should do as well. Channel 7 promises 45 free streaming channels. I watched the Matildas beat N Z last night. Impressed with the HD resolution. Japan must be supplying excellent quality cameras at the venues and channel 7 isnt choking the streamed display.. Setting something like that up tomorrow. Let’s see how it goes. Can’t be any worse than Optus and the WC a few years back.

Caught the tail end of the opening ceremonies. I enjoyed the segment in which the 50 or so sports were represented/enacted one after another in quick succession by people dressed up as blue and white icons.

So around 20 minutes Sweden scored. Then at 39 minutes there was a 5 minute ad break. When the match came back the score was 1-1. Fucking cretin tv moguls. I should have known. I am going to watch SBS and Netflix now instead of the olympics.

** Turns out he's 23 and has already had 4 pro fights - I was under the assumption we weren't sending professional boxers over

Agreed, though I get it, it doesn't seem contentious enough to be a pro league sport for tv maybe. Sometimes I think NBA tall guys without all the tools making millions would've had more fun in an alternate universe playing pro volleyball. Or even stars like Anthony Davis, he'd have to be exceptional at volleyball yes?
