One girl fell on her head from 12m. You could see the bone poking out of her wist and blood from her mouth. Maybe they should make safety ropes mandatory but it makes for good spectacle. Not sure whether to believe you! |

Belgium just won the men`s field hockey final against Australia, winning 3-2 on penalties. This is the first time Belgium win the Olympics.
Tomorrow the Netherlands will play against Argentina in the women`s final. Netherlands are big favorite to win that game.

Men's volleyball semifinals: France Argentina Brazil (defending champions) Russia Russia beat Brazil by 3-0 twice already this year, including at the group stage last week.
Brazil's series of four consecutive finals appearances (Gold, Silver, Silver, Gold) ends at the hands of the Russians, who will play France for the Gold.

I Noticed this as well. Same with the US, has made it to the Gold Medal Game in: Baseball, mens and womens baskeball, womens volleyball, womens water polo,softball and womens beach volleyball. |

As expected the Netherlands won the women`s field hockey final. This is the 4th Olympic gold medal (4 out of 11) for the Netherlands in women`s field hockey.
Netherlands is the most successful team in women`s field hockey.
Netherlands won 3-1 against Argentina in the final. Argentina is the team that have lost the most final. Argentina have been in three finals and lost all three.
The Netherlands are also the current European and World champions in women`s field hockey.
The Netherlands have won the world cup 8 times (8 out of 14) more than any nation and the European championship 11 times (11 out of 15) more than any other nation.

I'm sold on sport climbing as an olympic cport.
Lots of young people climb, not just in competition but rock climbing. It has a mature international competition system, and is fun to watch.
Janja Garnbrett blitzed the womens competition as she was expected to do, but there are lots of other good climbers to keep the competition interesting.
