Have any good examples of when your favorite teams/favorite players-athletes got boned and screwed over?
Julio Cesar Chavez is a Mexican legend and regarded as one of the best boxers ever.
On March 17, 1990 - A 68-0 Chavez - WBC Light Welterweight Champion fought Philadelphia's Meldrick Taylor in Las Vegas
Taylor was winning the fight handily and about to shock the world handing Chavez his first ever defeat
With 2 seconds left in the fight -instead of the ref letting the clock expire - the fight was stopped and Chavez was awarded a TKO victory
It's regarded as one of the biggest heists in boxing history folks

The Lakers-Kings free throw discrepancy game.
The missed call at first for what would have been the final out at Armando Galarraga's perfect game.
In 2000, the Steelers went 9-7 . . . but three of the losses (to the Browns, Titans, and Eagles) all had calls against the Steelers that were so egregious that the League put out official statements saying that the calls were wrong. All three happened in the last minute of the game or in overtime; if they had not messed up any one of them, the Steelers go 10-6 and make the playoffs.

Bathurst 2019. DJR Mustang illegally modify their engines. Get stripped of the lap record and pole position after the race. Kept the race win though. Spineless administrators.
AFL: Anthony Rocca kicks a goal to put Collingwood 8 points up in 2002 Grand Final. Goal umpire only man on the ground who thinks it missed. A couple of minutes later they fail to pay a blatant free kick to Chris Tarrant in the goal square. Would have been a certain Collingwood goal to put us 9 points up. About two minutes later Alistair Lynch puts Brisbane ahead after a soft as butter holding call. Aker scores the sealer about 2 minutes later. But for those three howlers we win the game.

Leeds was robbed from winning the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1973 The referee Christos Michas robed Leeds from winning and helped AC Milan winning it. Christos Michas only made calls in favor of AC Milan, he was investigated after the match and was banned for life due to match fixing.
Leeds lost that game before it started, Christos Michas made sure of that because he had decided that AC Milan should win the game.

Leafs up 3-2 Campbell Conference Final, leading in the 3rd at the Forum. Gretzky highsticks & bleeds Gilmour's face. No call. 99 ties it up & the Kings win in OT. Kings take the series next game. Fairly sure we've had this thread before, & yet that's here zero hesitation.

Kings v Lakers, Game 6 2002.
Never has there been a more blatant example of referees manipulating calls to get outcomes they wanted. The only real question is why they did it, and who was telling/paying them and for what reason.
Iβm firmly of the belief that the NBA hierarchy did not want a New Jersey v Sacramento Finals series, nor have 3 of its biggest stars (Bryant, Shaq and Phil Jackson) losing in the conference finals.
This game is primarily the reason I stopped following/watching the NBA.

This game is primarily the reason I stopped following/watching the NBA. I remember on the old board having an argument with Sue who's come back was "If the Kings were so much better why did they lose Game 7 at home?" The answer of course being that there's no way in the world they were going to let them win that one either. On the second part, I think the NBA have made an effort after that series to stop the same thing from happening again. I've had a lot of delusional fans tell me their team suffered a similar fate. I've watched most playoff series since and trust me: they haven't.
