Really accurately captures how badly they failed at matching the original mask in all the sequels.

I mean they don't look that bad. Won't be getting them though.

Yeah, they look... The covers do look like album snapshots of when Michael Myers visited Haddonfield. “Hey Michael, before you go on your slaughter. Lets get a picture of you posing in front of the hospital”. I don’t know, but the background image of the autumn leaves blowing in the wind really give it dramatic (even romantic) flair. Replace the weapon he’s holding with one of the actresses from the film and you might get something like this;

In all honesty, Scream Factory's original art is usually kinda bad. These are no exception. Don't know why they don't just use the original artwork. It's what 99.99% of the people who buy these would prefer, right?

I'm just glad Halloween 1978 is getting a new blu-ray release. I need to replace my old Anchor Baby DVD, which is no longer playable.

Well there was this just a few years ago: This must be the Lionsgate release, correct? My problems with the Anchor Bay DVD occured last October, and I was thinking about getting the Lionsgate one. But now that Shout! announced their new release I'll be getting that instead.

I actually own this, but can't really comment on how good the 4K is since I don't own a 4K player. The Blu-ray disc is the same as the 2007 Anchor Bay Blu release IIRC.

They've gotten a little carried away with the leaves! Ideally,reversible covers with the original artwork still included would be great. I rarely warm to trendy new artwork.
That said, I'd only buy the first three movies and the covers here aren't bad but somehow don't fit the mood of the films nearly as well as the classic original artwork.
Never had a problem with Myers' mask in the second movie but have hated every one since.

The leaves are especially silly for the first movie since we all know that those were faked, and not especially well. The second movies mask was apparently the same as the first's, but it clearly doesn't fit the new Michael the same way. It's all stretched out and wide because that dude has a bigger head. I'd forgive it more if it wasn't supposed to be a straight continuation on the same night.

Well there was this just a few years ago: I have these two, which I think have pretty cool covers: Funny enough, the Blu-ray collection set that I have uses the original's 35th Anniversary disc. Then again, pretty much all of 1-5 and the Rob Zombie movies in that set use previously released discs. 2 and 3 are the standalone Scream Factory versions, 4 and 5 use the standalone Anchor Bay Blu-rays, and the Rob Zombie films use their original Blu-ray discs. 2-5 are understandable since both SF and AB were behind that set. 6-8 are the only ones with originally created discs. Here's the set I'm talking about BTW:

The more expansive collection has the Producer's Cut of Halloween 6 which has all the special features. I actually have the recent F13 set that came that had a similar setup as the bigger Halloween set, but I don't entirely regret not owning the Halloween one. I mean who cares about the TV cuts of the original two movies? And while I would like to have owned the Producer's Cut, I may not anymore since I watched that online and found it to be even weaker than the theatrical version, even if the latter made less sense. The separate cases are a nice touch though.

The separate cases are a nice touch though. True, true. But there were a lot of special features produced for 4-6 that weren't carried over from the larger set, and that's what I find a little odd. The interviews, documentaries, Horror's Halloween Grounds bit etc. are what I wish had carried over. I have the standalone Producer's Cut of H6 on blu-ray and the TV version of Halloween II via the Scream Factory steelbook, so I'm all set with those. The Halloween II TV cut only functions as a source of comedy.
