I'm curious to see how this plays out. It could definitely alienate a group in the locker room. I know id be pissed off if a teammate caused me to miss a paycheck over something so stupid. Just get the vaccine. I dont know why it has to be an issue. Like DeAndre Hopkins is so against a shot that he'd contemplate retiring over it? Is he deathly scared of needles or something? I also think its odd that the NFL is doing this when last year they basically said "fuck you and play" fucking over teams by moving games and forcing teams to play without a QB. I actually think that's why a some do not want to get the vaccine - they're deathly afraid of needles - and also are fearful and paranoid of the possible side effects that could come down the road since they were 'fast tracked' to an extent without FDA Approval. Understandable. I don't judge. I don't like bats, mice, rats and am fearful a shark will eat me alive when I'm in the ocean.
Others - I just believe they have 0 concern for anybody other than themselves
I've run into quite a few who believe they're being 'tough' by not getting a vaccine - i.e. - they'll fight the virus with their immune system by healthy living - healthy eating and exercise. They'll proclaim that they're not a 'Sheep' and downplay the virus (down deep I think they're just fearful of the shot - either the needle itself or the possibility of side effects down the road - which is a bit understandable - I don't judge - I just want to protect myself and others and don't believe there's a Twilight Zone conspiracy theory that Bill Gates is trying to depopulate civilization as we know it and this is all a plan to wipe a lot of us out - as we soon fall under one government lead by the Worldwide Elite)
Don't these same players have to get an annual physical anyway? Just one more shot...well two.

Not every year but most adults do have yo get periodic shots, and I would have to assume the NFL players are getting regular blood work... plus cortisone shots, draining fluid, etc. Needles have to be pretty common for NFL players.

I didn't even think about cortisone shots or draining fluid...

I'm sure if you had an irrational fear of needles you would think about those as being different. But I gotta imagine needles are pretty commonplace in the medical rooms of NFL facilities.

Yeah there are the groups that think there is some sort of toughness to not getting the shot. Or that they're for some reason proud of not getting it like its a medal of honor. I find it idiotic the same as I do parents not vaccinating their kids in some dumbass fear that it causes autism. I got my two shots and felt like shit for 2 or 3 days after the 2nd one but all good after that.
I dont really think the NFL can force players to get it though. I doubt its in the CBA. However Goodell can seemingly do whatever he wants so maybe they can.

Players who opt out could start up a Polio league somewhere offshore.

This is between them imo. I’ve got no stake really. If the game I want to watch is cancelled I’ll just watch something else.
This does make me wary of planning on going to game in person tho, because if I’m all set to go and they cancel the game hours before due to covid I’ll be jacked.

Vikes QBs in COVID Protocol
Zimm's not happy with unvaccinated folks.
Per NBCSports -
“Something like this happens the day before a game with a chance to get into the playoffs?”
“Quite honestly, after everything we went through last year, I’m not surprised one bit."
"It’s important to be available in a team sport.”
“This Delta variant is tough, and you can see the cases going up,” Zimmer said. “For the sake of everybody, it’s important, but some don’t see it that way.”

What is the point in being vaccinated, if both (vaccinated and unvaccinated people) can and will transmit the virus?!
For older people or vulnerable people it makes sense, but for healthy NFL-players...

NFL sense, unvaxed are walking into a fire & costing their teammates, their teams, & the league as a whole - voluntary health chaos.
