Those lists are meaningless so won't annoy myself by reading it, but is it really 10 years already? Such a loss. Very few people come along with the genuine talent she had, such a pity the tabloid life and horrifically poor choice in friends/leeches did for her. Here is her great set filmed for "Arena" playing in a tiny church in the fishing village of Dingle, if you get a chance to see the whole BBC documentary it's well worth a watch.

Great article, thanks. I think it's the power of her performances she left behind that I like best, she was a throwback to the torch singers of old, and she respected the socio-political history associated with the role of the chanteuse. She could take a song and bend it around to fit her interpretation, like only the great ones do.

That Dingle doc was on BBC2 last night. Presumably on iplayer now.
