I would have gone with Cleveland Commanders. And a logo of the state flag of Ohio on the uniform and hat. That would have been respectful. Every time someone says Browns or Cavz, no respect is shown. The Columbus Blue Jackets of the NHL already do the state flag on the logo thing. |

How hard would it be to make this into Indians? Just having the last five letters in common, no big deal. The r is an easy n, so all you need is I. This only needed blacking out 2 letters to make a raunchy statement, which they did in So. Cal all the time.

Should have been easy to come up something else. But either way 'Commanders' would have been a better name.

1. The new name is going to make it feel weird watching Major League the movie. 2. The new name feels kind of weak to me. It's like they're overcompensating for people who have criticized the Indians name. I'm sure a better name can be chosen.

It doesn't matter what the name is - people would hate it regardless. Think of ANY existing sports team name, and imagine that it never existed before. If it were then introduced, would you like it? Bengals? Stars? Packers? Knicks? Phillies? "The name could've been better" people here would say. "Couldn't they choose something else?" NO MATTER WHAT.
