In a shock development yesterday on 'Good Morning Football', Kay Adams backed the Cincinnati Bengals to reach the playoffs this coming season. She believes returning quarterback Joe Burrow can lead the AFC North in passing yards. The AFC North division, which Adams referred to Friday as "an absolute gauntlet", should be hugely competitive, with the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers also in the hunt, as well as Cincinnati's improving state rivals, Cleveland Browns.
"And yeh, Bengals to the playoffs. Crush me, bruh."
- Kay Adams

I go back and forth on her. She's grown on me more as time has gone on, though.

Hardly a shock, this is the NFL. Team fortune can change dramatically in one year.

I don't understand it. Must be something new. Whatever happened to waiting and seeing if these guys can perform after their injuries? Same thing is being said about Dak Prescott. Hell, he was given a giant contract before he played one down after his horrific injury.
I'm gettin' old.

Interesting. I think the Bengals will be a decent team with a very good offense and an improved defense, but I just don’t see them making the playoffs this season, the AFC North is such a strong division and the Bengals have the weakest defense of the 4 team in the North. I’m not counting them out, I love Burrow and their offense is really strong, but they are probably the least complete team in the division.
I can’t wait for football and the AFC North will be very exciting to watch!!

Absolutely. They also did a feature on the all-new Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers have done a complete overhaul on their offensive line to bring up to speed with their strong defense. They say Big Ben is more about family than money now, he's rested, rehabbed and superfresh, with his arm feeling strong. He could be unrecognisable from the QB that faltered down the stretch last season.

The Dak Prescott bus is rolling and it does seem like a lot is expected of Dallas this season. Jerry Jones got really emotional in front of cameras this week, saying he'd do anything to win another Super Bowl.
Have you seen Ezekiel Elliott? He's dropped a ton of weight. I guess he epitomises the "new look" player, leaner and more athletic, prepared to glance off defenders at speed rather than cushion heavy blows. I hear they are looking a lot more at vegan diets now in football, and plant-based foods, going easy on the donuts.

She's the first person I've seen on television sticking their neck out for the Bengals to make the playoffs. I'm not sure I'd be so confident, but they could be a fun team to keep an eye on. I think we'll get a better idea this season of how the coaching is going in Cincinnati too.
Yes, there's plenty of sport this summer, but I can't wait for the football season to kick off!

And Detroit have been in a blue funk for decades. If they do make the playoffs that'll be one tense organisation. I could be wrong, but I think the Lions have lost as a wildcard in every playoff appearance they've made since the team of 1991.

Yes the Lions only have 1 playoff win in the Super Bowl era, what a joke of a franchise they are. I think they have the worst roster in the NFL this year.

It will be interesting to see what the Browns do this season now that expectations are very high for them. I really like their team and think they have a shot at the Super Bowl, but a lot of pressure is on them now, and their division is really tough.

I think the teams that start well in the AFC North will gain a real advantage. If one team goes 0-3 in the first 3 weeks of the season, that's an uphill struggle in a tough division.
It might have been the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC North that started really poorly last season, then despite improving markedly, they were always playing catch-up and just missed out on the playoffs. The Ravens and the Steelers have a ton of experience that starts with the head coach position, I think the Browns and Bengals could benefit from a good start to the season. If you go 2-2 in the first four weeks that's solid, but you don't want to go 1-3 (and certainly not 0-4), then the pressure could really build.
