Has anyone tried it? Is it good or just a poor substitute for the real thing? I have trouble with ice cream, I can only eat a little, I get gas and often an upset stomach if I eat too much. I cannot drink milk (but milk never appealed to me even as a child). Thanks.

There are a couple of other lactose free ice creams as well: Natrel and Chapman's both make them.

I've had almond milk ice cream which is pretty good, although I try to avoid it due to the environmental impact that the almond farms have out in California and in other areas where water is a precious commodity.
Coconut milk ice cream is also pretty good if you can find it.

I wonder why they don't grow almonds here in the very wet Deep South.

No.
But if I have a really rich ice cream, I don't have much.
A pint of Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie says 3 servings, but it's about 8 for me.

You eat ice cream like I do, I just have a few small teaspoons. If I buy a pint for myself, I usually don't get to finish it, WKD will see it in the freezer and eat it up so it "doesn't go to waste."

I just bought one of these to try this weekend: It comes in several different flavors.
