Rodgers is gone: traded, opting out, retiring...but he won't play for this treacherous bastard Gutekunst.

Rodgers is gone: traded, opting out, retiring...but he won't play for this treacherous bastard Gutekunst. I fully expected him to pull a giant Alpha move and tell the Pack he's done there and not reporting
But this 'Last Dance' picture is interesting
Interesting indeed
To me that says he's reporting
If you're a teammate how do you accept him?
I'd pull him aside and have some words - like -
'Hey Bub - you best be giving 110% effort and not be a distraction for the rest of us or there's going to be a problem, capeesh?'
To me this whole ordeal has been a slap in the face to his teammates, the organization, the Pack fans and the city (town/village)

Why doesn't Green Bay just trade him? It's clearly what he wants. They aren't gonna get anything out of this guy on the field. They minus well see if they can get some good draft picks for him.

Can you imagine the distraction for his teammates? I'd be furious if I was a teammate (the same with Deshaun Watson in Houston)
We've all worked with disgruntled workers before who do not want to be there - turns into a sh*tshow for everybody
I'm with you - get him out of there
He already turned down a contract offer that was set to make him the highest player in the NFL and he would have been wrapped up for like 5 years I believe. That's what I thought this was all about - he wanted to be the top paid player in the NFL - obviously not
Do your team a favor and get him out of there
Of course it sets a precedent that players on the team can strong arm upper management into doing whatever they desire - so there may the that to think about - i.e. as upper management you look weak for caving to a players demands .........you're supposed to be the boss - not the other way around...

Yeah, how dare he draft a QB for the future, daring to think that the Packers will still exist after Aaron Rodgers is gone? Not like he gave Rodgers the best o-line in the league, a coach that tailors the offense to his strengths, and locks up (or tries to lock up) his best weapons. Last Dance? Jordan was going for his sixth championship. What's Rodgers gunning for? A third consecutive NFC title game appearance?

He's got an opt out on his contract after this year
What are the chances upper management not only does not cave - but just tells him to stay home so he's not a distraction and just lets him walk after the year?
Now that would be an Alpha move - don't let him play, don't cave to his demands for a trade - just tell the Big Giant Baby to stay home and we don't want you here so you're not a distraction to our season
0.01%?

Apparently he’s returning, or close to a deal anyway.
He’s undoubtedly gone after this season. May even retire.

I think it’s clear now that Rodgers is returning to GB for one more season, and then leaving/retiring.

This guy really thinks he's something and it's all about him, eh?
Mean to tell me all of this couldn't have been avoided this offseason as he made sure he had a microscope on him all offseason?
I can just see him arriving at camp tomorrow in all of his smugness - the first day of his farewell tour -

I think it’s clear now that Rodgers is returning to GB for one more season, and then leaving/retiring. He will play another year or two. Go down the same road that Montana, Namath, Unitas did

These leagues are run by the players now
We see it all the time in the NBA
It's really sad - Rodgers demanding the Pack trade for Randall Cobb - essentially holding a gun to their head
And it looks like they're going to appease him - Houston just traded for Bears WR Andre Miller which could make Cobb expendable

Will his free agency frenzy be bigger than Manning's?
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Packers are expected to restructure Aaron Rodgers' contract to address his grievances with the team while setting up his "departure from Green Bay after the season."
Schefter noted that this isn't a done deal yet but it would be surprising to see things fall apart at this point. It's a truly wild situation as Schefter also added that the new contract would address some of his "issues with the team" but didn't elaborate further. It would void the final year of his deal and allow him to leave by preventing the Packers from using any kind of tag on him. Lastly, the new contract would not give Rodgers any more money but would free up some cap space for Green Bay to spend this year. It's a bizarre situation and the lack of any new money, if true, would solidify the fact that Rodgers' dispute with the team was based exclusively on philosophical differences. More info will come and clarify some of the oddities of the deal but, for now, Rodgers is back with the Packers for another year.

This guy is going to be 38 1/2 when 2022 starts and he won a Super Bowl over a decade prior
I've seen many players bet on themselves and give up a ton of money and lose - see Nerlens Noel
I hope for his sake Aaron Rogers doesn't turn out to be Nerlens Noel
Fascinating situation to watch unfold this year - I hope he doesn't get injured either ...I don't like the guy but I don't root for anybody's demise and failure.
Sounds like he's betting on himself - I admire the confidence and swag but not everybody is Brady - he's not even Brady Light

He's going to be a Packer this season? *insert shocked face*
ESPN sure as fuck got their air time outta this bullshit thats for sure. Had quite a bit of people eating it up and obsessing over it. Hopefully he is in GB til he retires or if that's not the case Hopefully he gets control on where he goes after and GB doesn't fuck him over like they did Favre.
I can't wait for Rodgers to come on the Pat McAfee Show tomorrow and give a giant middle finger to folks.
