They wanted SEC tv money, plain and simple. Playoff expansion is coming, so they'd be a lock for them every year in the Big XII. It's not like OU needed help recruiting. RIP Big XII, hello to whomever gets pushed down to the middle of the pack (and yet still overrated because of their conference) in the SEC.

Sad but true. More money, more competition, better home games. The two Kansas teams, Texas Tech and TCU get replaced on schedule with Alabama, Georgia Auburn. Even the Longhorns weren’t much competition .

Even the Longhorns weren’t much competition . heard kansas & tcu are probably heading to the pac 12... I can’t imagine any conference wanting that anemic football team. They would finish 7th in the Ivy League. Yeah the basketball team is a keeper but basketball brings in a fraction of football income.
