......in your city/region/state ?? For instance, New York is big enough to support more than one pro team in multiple sports, but is it really possible to be a fan (equally so) of, say, BOTH the Mets AND the Yankees.......or is that something that's (usually) just NOT done ??  SAVE FERRIS

I don't know a single person who is an equal fan of both teams. I'll watch Yankee games when the Mets aren't on, but I am not a fan, nor do I particularly root for them when they're in the playoffs. I've heard nimrods on this board claim to be a fan of both going down the road of "supporting an NL team and an AL team," but in the days of interleague play, that claim seems rather spurious, at best.
So no, I don't think it's really possible. You can support two teams to varying degrees, but I just can't see how you can equally support two different teams in the same sport. Are there any equal Cubs AND White Sox fans? Dodgers AND Angels fans? I doubt it.
