On Sunday, I roasted a chicken, and had some for dinner on Sunday/Monday. Yesterday, I pulled the meat from the carcass, and simmered the skin and bones, with herbs, in preparation for soup. I like to refrigerate the strained liquid overnight, so that I can literally lift the coagulated fat off the top, in the morning. I dropped the pot.
"@$*&^)!$# $*&)@$#%!^ %&^*$#++~@!"
I'll still make soup using commercial broths and flavorings. I'd already cut the veggies, and prepared other herbs. But, all of that flavor is gone ... and, I had to clean up a mess. End of rant. Thanks for listening. 01929345782045 777

When I burn my arm on the oven door, just not paying attention, its happened more than once.

Last year, during the height of Covid, I sliced a nice sized chunk off my the top of my thumb while cutting carrots. I just, I dunno, wasn't focused and was working on my knife skills (again, during the height of Covid, I was trying to learn a new skill!) and bam. It's funny, I knew I had done it, but there was a very long second in between me doing it and when I felt it/it started bleeding. The second seemed to last a while, very surreal.
Anyway, it was just small enough that there wasn't enough to sew back on, but big enough that I had to keep it wrapped for several days and it took a couple months to fully heal.
That was a fun night.
Also, I once dropped a BJs sized opened bag of chia seeds. Ugh. That SUCKED. They were everywhere, and I still find them now and then in the nooks and crannies of the kitchen months later. I bet if I were to pull the oven out, I'd find a ton of them.

To your post, and to Nuts' question, none of my body parts became involved. That is a blessing, considering that the "pot" is a cast-iron Dutch oven. Suddenly, in retrospect, it doesn't seem so bad. Thanks, guys.

I just sliced into my thumb a week ago with new shears. I haven't seen that much blood in a long time. Tried to open the ointment and there was nothing I could do to get the small piece of foil off with one hand. Finally used an ice pick. Then I couldn't get the bandaid out of the wrapper.
I drop a lot of things. Can't count the times 18 ounces of blueberries ended up all over the floor after being knocked from the fridge, or a yogurt splattered everywhere. Falling frozen food and knives always get me dancing.
I also have poor knife skills and try to cut things in midair a lot. Some foods shoot away from their intended destination. I drop cooked food onto the oven door a lot trying to get it out. When I barbecue, I often lose food to the coals.
I had quite a few coffemaker mishaps, less now with one that won't soak the counter and floor if I forget to put the pot under it.
