Netflix’s head of original films Scott Stuber recently told Variety. “He’s an incredible filmmaker. I’m going to do everything I can. In this business I’ve learned you need to have zero ego. I get punched and knocked down and get back up.”

Nolan would do it if it gets a full theatrical release, which I doubt would happen.

Ironically, Sony Pictures is the way to go. After next year, their theatrically released movies will end up on Netflix anyway.

I think Nolan was against streaming and yet Tenet ended up on HBO Max.

I am lost on what ck's point is then. Nolan isn't against his movies playing on streaming services once they come out to rent. Not that I am aware of anyway. His movies have been played on Netflix many times since Netflix started. He is against movies not having a full exclusively theatrical run. Tenet had an exclusively theatrical release before it was released on DVD.

Nolan is a fantastic filmmaker. I think he should do it and here's why. Netflix will literally let him do anything. He'd have full creative freedom and I'm sure he'd have as much money as he wanted. I don't think anyone can offer him a deal as good as Netflix can. However, we all know how he feels about streaming, which I personally think is dumb of him. But that's his choice. If he could get like a limited release I don't really see why that wouldn't make him happy. He can still generate a ton of buzz with a Netflix movie.
