Probably at least as much as yours, cat food is unbelievable in the amount it has gone up and my cat's insulin keeps going up in price, last month it cost $184.00, I pick some more up tomorrow and I dread to see how much it is. Until last year, it stayed at $149.00 for several years. Everything is going up by 50cents to $3.00 or more, the packages are getting smaller and produce has skyrocketed. The gov't tells people to eat healthy but the healthy foods are getting out of reach price wise. Income is not going up. Even if I get a small increase in my SS, I doubt if my net will increase because Medicare takes it away. I fall in that crack where my increase in SS is usually smaller than the increase in my Medicare. I don't even want to think what will happen when WKD is out of a job, we may become street people, we have some savings but it earns practically no interest (we lost a lot during the 2006 recession and WKD was ill and didn't work for 1 1/2 years (2014-2015) My story sounds like a lot of Americans, we're becoming a third world country, just a few rich at the top and most of the rest will be poor.

Yup, haven't calculated but I'd say roughly 20%.

Haven't calculated it, but so far, I'm not sweating higher prices. I know how, when and where to cut expenses, and I still have some "cheap eats" tricks up my sleeve from years of experience that come in handy about now. Plus, I hear a lot of people are starting to cut back, so you might start seeing some price relief in the grocery stores soon, knock on wood.

My husband keeps track of credit card purchases, but sometimes I use cash.
So I will have to guess. Like WKM said, a lot of items are 50 cents more on a 3 dollar item.
I guess around 20%.
BTW I know I'm old, but in 1974 my three roommates and I each put $5 a week toward groceries/toiletries. My grocery bill was twenty dollars per month.
Now a single roast can be that much.

This month it's going down. I don't have as much to buy.
My roommates feel obligated to feed people when guests are over
I got fed pizza 5 times in july and was given the left overs, totaling 10 free meals. So i have extra food in my freezer that was meant to be eaten last month.

I'm having to cut back on what I buy. Some things don't make it in to my shopping basket at the moment. Prices of simple food products in the U K have been soaring.

I stopped at the store yesterday for 'just a few things' and came out less $60!! Prices are all definitely going up. I need to start cutting back and watching more closely for sales.

Somehow I don't seem to be getting as much for the same price: I think the term they're using for that is "shrinkflation", lol.

TJs organic drumsticks were $1 99 a pound for so long. Now $2 49.
Costco always had Charmin and Bounty coupons I'd wait for. Not since all this started. Sparkling water sale prices are not very good now.
Restaurant got rid of their lunch menu.
Was thinking of driving to Port Aransas, but gas is rising fast
A lot of things cost the same, though.

I still got my Little Dutch Boy BAKERY Holiday cookies for $2.00 a box at FAMILY Dollar. These cheap cookies are so good. I noticed that the Pepperidge Farm chocolate chip cookies are getting smaller and smaller (remember when they were a big cookie). I don't know what percentage my grocery bill has gone up but I notice some things go up by over $1.00, some just a few cents and many things are packaged in smaller proportions but the price is the same as it used to be. I guess those of us on SS are getting a good increase but I will probably get a smaller check because my Medicare always goes up more than my increase. Cat food is outrageous and my cat insulin went up $10.00 as well as the syringes. This is becoming a country of 2 classes, rich and poor (I'm poor.)
p.s. I may have to consider becoming a "mule" one day in order to take care of the wicked kitties, I'll do almost anything to take care of them and WKD.

I read an article on Yahoo last week - pet food has gone up 20% since the Pandemic started. I remember when homeless people in the 1980's ate cat food because it was cheap and nutritious. Now a lot of pets are being dumped because their owners can't afford to feed them though I think some of these owners could afford to care for their pets if they gave up booze and cigarettes. I feel for the seniors who are on fixed incomes, that will be us in another year.
