I saw Black Widow last night. It was okay. It had decent characters and story.
But it was unbearably predictable. It pretty much just recycled storylines, concepts and styles from previous MCU films. I was bored a few times.
It seems it has all been downhill since Endgame. Even the shows like Wandavision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier have been a bit bleh. I stopped watching Loki after the second episode.
It all just feels aimless. It reminds me of the Batman movies of the 1990s. They ended with Batman & Robin and restarted with Batman Begins.
Maybe this is what should happen with the MCU.

To each their own. After Endgame a lot of MCU properties will likely go downhill because of how perfect of a conclusion it was so I get what you mean. I've still yet to see Black Widow.

the next generation won't be as good as the original , though Captain Marvel gave me some hope

Basically. I have nothing else to add. They were never going to recover post RDJ and the TV show milking, the refusal to recast Black Panther and the Marvel dilution via its TV shows sealed its fate.

Couldn't agree more. They should give themselves a big pat on the back for what they managed to achieve and then pull the plug before the older work gets tarnished by the new.

While the movies are making money, it's unlikely to end.
I haven't seen an MCU movie since Endgame and I don't really look forward to anything in the future besides Deadpool.

Yeah, still being in a global pandemic with not all theaters opened and no release at all in China, coupled with putting it on D+ immediately has nothing to do with that.

Black Widow Budget -$200 million Black Widow Box Office - $360,161,561 Also, the movie has made well over $60 million on Disney Plus premier access.
It had the biggest domestic opening weekend and the biggest domestic total so far of any movie since the pandemic started.

Admitedly, it would have made money if it was released in China but it wasn't and by the look of things that is something the MCU will need to get used to in the future.

Contrary to what most people think, likeable charasmatic actors have drawing power over the long run, not the comic book character itself. If you get rid of and/or diminish the original cast then you need the same type of actors to fill their shoes that will attract general audiences. Thats what made the MCU so successful. Is Brie Larson going to be as popular with crowds as Chris Evans? Will Simu Liu have the same box office drawing power as Robert Downey Jr did? Can Letitia Wright fill the shoes of Chadwick Bosman? Can Gemma Chan replicate the likeability that Scarlet Johanson had for 10 years. We will see. They still at least have proven guys like Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Holland.

Ruffalo not so sure, he's not really been the same Hulk since Ragnarok and never had his own movie. The other 2 are supporting casts.

I've been saying this for the longest time. In comicbook movies, acting skill is only secondary to charisma. This is why you have people like Jason Momoa and Gal Gadot raking in far more fans than someone like Brie Larson or Ben Affleck. Screen presence, likeability, and a magnetic personality will be far more effective in retaining a cbm fanbase than whether you won an Oscar or not.

It won't end until every film starts bombing at the boxoffice.
Even then I expect Disney to take a few years off and try it again.
