Do you accept the entire Disney/sequel trilogy as canon?

Canon has nothing to do with anyone's opinion. It's canon if the entity who owns the IP says it's canon.

I don't consider any of the DT true canon as they are not collective works of the creator of Star Wars, George Lucas.
I thought TFA was ok at the time but TLJ failed to continue the same storyline, so I can't even consider that in the same reduced manner of TFA. I haven't seen the last one so I couldn't comment on that.
However I would assume all Disney Sequel Trilogy "fans" would consider it canon...

-One of the movies in the trilogy I do not regard as canon (please explain)
I don't know if I can still call myself a fan when I refuse to watch one of them, but I liked TFA, and really liked TLJ. In my mind, the saga is in an extended cliffhanger with an irredeemable Kylo Ren leading the First Order against a daughter of nobodies, with zero help from a guy that conclusively died when Darth Vader chucked him down a shaft.

Do you accept the entire Disney/sequel trilogy as canon? Doesn't matter if we accept them or not. Those are the movies that actually got made and were seen by the entire planet. It doesn't GET more canon than that. Whether or not they're canon is irrelevant. They are. Doesn't mean we have to like them. What we have are three canon movies that were at best ok. Still better than the prequels IMO. There'll always be the OT.

I reluctantly accept them as canon, as far as any further films/shows fitting in with what happened in the sequel trilogy, but I pretty much ignore 80% of it when writing fanfic.

Canon has nothing to do with anyone's opinion. It's canon if the entity who owns the IP says it's canon. So ATM it’s canon but don’t assume that in time an alternative sequel(S) won’t be made which supersedes it. Sure, Harrison, Carrie and Mark may not be around but their likenesses may be. The technology will only improve to completely animate an actor. I say this because the market for an alternative sequel is there. So loathed is the Sequel Trilogy that it’s status as canon could eagerly be removed. You’ll see how unpopular it is by the setting of future video games and other merchandise.

Canon has nothing to do with anyone's opinion. It's canon if the entity who owns the IP says it's canon. Period. Its canon. It happened. You cant undo it. And you cant ignore it because you didn't like it. Its canon that sucked. That's all. I waited 30 years to see Luke Skywalker kick ass and what did I get? One shot in TFA, grumpy mcgrumpkins in TLJ, and a ghost in ROS. You think I'm happy?! But it happened.

I'm tired of you whiners just always chasing nostalgia and being disappointed by your own stupid expectations. The sequel trilogy was great, Gen-X is just full of jaded, unappreciative little pricks.

Audiences decide what they will accept in the end. Take the 007 movies. Never Say Never Again wasn't produced by Eon Productions. Yet it had Sean Connery returning to the James Bond role one last time, was based on author Ian Fleming's work, and was a commercial success (something a lot of people put emphasis on when evaluating the worthiness of something...not me but others...). Now is it an official 007 movie? It depends on the Bond fan you ask. It's very existence wasn't enough to determine whether fans accept it as canon or not. I don't accept the DT as canon in the same way. I acknowledge they made it, and they seem to determined to continue to sell it as this great thing, but I don't accept it. I try my hardest when watching The Mandalorian to not think about where the current timeline goes according to Disney. Season 2 of the show made it particularly hard to view the ending as anything other than me thinking, "Does it really matter...? We know what happens. He fails. Everything he tried to build is destroyed. They all die. Does it matter?" I just wish they hadn't included that part in the show, but, again, they seem determined to cram in whatever George Lucas created in some terrible attempt to legitimize what they wrote as "canon." Oh well.

Luke had only reached the point where he could SOME ass in ROTJ. His prime would have been somewhere between ROTJ and TFA. But again... HA HA HA HA HA! Thanks the for the laugh! I especially liked the "Gen-X is just full of jaded, unappreciative little pricks" part! Nice! HA HA HA HA HA! Well, to be fair, Darth Vader isn't just SOME ass. Of course. But even Lucas himself said that Vader (and I'm paraphrasing) Vader was old and half machine by the time we see him in the OT movies; so no longer in his prime. In fact, it can be said that in the OT movies we never see ANYONE in their prime. Vader is old and half machine. Obiwan is old. Luke is totally untrained. Yoda is old. So much so that he dies in the very next movie. And even the Emperor, as powerful as he is, can be said to be old and past his prime too. IMO Luke has only just reached the beginning of his powers in ROTJ. His full prime would most likely be five or so years after that when he's had a lot more training and experience. It can also be argued that Luke never reaches his full potential as he never had the best training he could have gotten. Obiwan dies before he can teach him much. He cuts his training with Yoda. And as far as we know he's left on his own after that. Sure, there are those Jedi books, but we don't know when he got them or what he learned from them. Maybe force ghost Obiwan and Yoda taught him some more? We'll never know now.
