Bonjour Femmes et Hommes Fatale of ze Board Classique! After 18 months unemployment and mounting debt I have finally found an employer gullible enough to offer me some temp work helping rollout the COVID Vaccine. One of my main activities will be telephoning care homes, supported living providers etc, extracting numbers on staff/residents vaccinated, ascertaining reasons for refusal and offering tips on how to persuade the recalcitrant. To help me with the final bit I'm creating a crib sheet of counter arguments against the main reasons for refusal (blood clots, pregnancy, fertility concerns, lack of l/t data, general vaccine phobia) and I'm interested in any thoughts from posters here - particularly any refuseniks. For the avoidance of doubt I'm clear at this point in UK anyway vaccine still optional (although legislation due next month could oblige residential care workers to have one ie if they don't anyone who doesn't walk will be dismissed). As it took a week and a half for me to access the IT I'll need for the job i suspect the Virus may well have run it's course by the time I finish my training, but if there are any naysayers still breathing at that point in the borough I'm covering it would be helpful for me to practice on you before I get to them ! Thanks in advance Here's a couple of selfies of me and my new work chums .... love my new uniform!

I kept hearing it is all about politics. Let us know what you find out, or whether we need to proof of vaccination before posting in this thread.

I kept hearing it is all about politics. Let us know what you find out, or whether we need to proof of vaccination before posting in this thread. So far all I found out was that on limited sample study so far (1400 women) there didn't seem to be any higher risk of stillbirth, miscarriage or abnormality in the child in women who have had the vaccine. The passport threat is being ramped up as an inducement to the UKs under 40s... "You won't be able to go to the gig/club/festival etc if you haven't got proof of jab"... and there is talk of making it mandatory for students wanting to attend college. I do feel we shouldn't waste energy on die hard anti vacciners - they won't change - and should work on the 90% {?) that might. whether we need to proof of vaccination before posting in this thread.
FYI TENET fans, Debbie Reynolds "Western" enthusiasts (no vaccine yet available for this affliction ) and full members of the Sonny Tufts Fan Club are the only prohibited groups on my threads!

Mostly, the reasons the anti-vax crowd isn't going to cooperate are political. They don't want to be told what to do, by someone who they don't think is rightfully the President. That is the most pathetic reason there is, for leaving themselves open to an at worst, deadly disease. At best, a hellishly miserable 2 weeks in bed. And as a bonus, the chance to be guilty of passing on this disease to others who might even die from it. The anti-vax crowd doesn't care. All that matters is how they feel about the "leader" they love.
Some say "I don't know what is in the vaccine." They don't know what is in their weed either, that they bought through a friend of a friend.
In case there is any question, I am vaccinated.

Not sure we have that to explain our antivaccers here - I'm hoping I'm allowed to say I had it a year ago and it was vile - like being possessed - and the brain scrambling effect not to be underestimated - couldn't recall my mobile phone and kept getting confused about what day/week I was in for a good month after it . No sane person should refuse vaccine without good reason - I'm sure there ARE good reasons just want to know what they are . Yeah just saying no to be cool/trumpet your civil liberties feels a bit irresponsible - it's not just about you but the - more vulnerable - people you could infect. I was advised to have the jabs anyway so I had them... but I have no issue with vaccines generally and on balance think the risks of contracting whatever they prevent are likely to be greater than the problems/side effects having any vacc might cause.

... I had it a year ago and it was vile - like being possessed - and the brain scrambling effect not to be underestimated - couldn't recall my mobile phone and kept getting confused about what day/week I was in ... I have been like that since long before Covid was unleashed. Known side-effects of retirement on a tropical island. I change my phones too often through theft or malfunction to keep up with memorising their numbers, while all days are the same to me, hot, humid and too impoverished to change my routines. Let's hope Covid rages long enough for you to remain in employment and clear your personal debts.

Thanks London - I think this must be you with my equivalent Vaccine Cheerleader number in the Tropics - is she bringing you round after you fainted during an especially potent "booster"......- Could you ask her if there are any openings her way - I'll forward my resume..... this gig is only til September! You are right - I should look on it all as a great opportunity - why if COVID hangs around long enough I may even be able to splash out on the one Rene Clement movie I've missed - swings and roundabouts!

She is too pallid for my tastes. And I resent you calling me a 'primadonna'. But it does give a fair idea of my tedious routine here. Weekdays, weekends, Christmas, birthdays - all the same. No wonder I struggle to remember the date or day of the week. I am struggling to post this. The prestamista (loan shark) has just called to amputate another finger for late payment. He did assure me there were no hard feelings, though. "Just business, amigo"You are right - I should look on it all as a great opportunity - why if COVID hangs around long enough I may even be able to splash out on the one Rene Clement movie I've missed - swings and roundabouts! Ah yes, "Balançoires et Ronds-points". One of his very best.
You are in the perfect position to prolong Covid single-handed. Try injecting saline solution like your opposite number in Germany. Quite harmless to the recipient (apart from not protecting them from Covid).

Blood of the Condor, Quechua: Yawar Mallku, is a 1969 Bolivian drama film directed and written by Jorge Sanjinés. The film tells the story of an indigenous Bolivian community in the early 1960s receiving medical/vaccinations from the Cuerpo del Progreso ("Progress Corps") which in reality was the American Peace Corps. Since visiting the clinic, local women have become infertile, suspiciously no babies are being conceived and young children have died throughout the community. Rumours of sterilization fuel rage and decisive direct action from the people… Based on true accounts of the indigenous people Sanjinés film provoked an outrage in the public which led to a government investigation about the Peace Corps' actions in Bolivia, which ended with their expulsion from the country. Jorge Sanjinés, a pioneer of Andean cinema, this his second feature is a radical neorealist film that takes the form of a fictional documentary. Traditional and mysterious Andean flute melodies create a striking atmospheric tone, intensifying the wonder of the beauty and remoteness of the mountain settings... Rising up, the direct action of the Bolivian people reject and end the deceitful sinister vaccination program...

I come here to the Classic Film Board on topic, and happy to talk of Classic film vaccinations biological outbreaks etc.... La cage (1963) France Dir. Robert Darène This unusual classic drama is a co -production between France and Gabon. Documentary footage opens the tale which looks to be the swearing in of the new President, part of Gabon's 1960 independence ceremony ? Is it any wonder the meandering story has such a mish-mash of ideas there are eight writers credited... Top billed is Marina Vlady playing Isabelle a mysterious enchanting ethereal beauty, but it is some time before she makes the first of her brief and fleeting appearances. Having studied medicine in France a young doctor Philippe Mory comes back to his native Gabon and takes charge of a vaccination project. He encounters opposition from the superstitious locals and a sceptical jungle hardened white man, Jean Servais. Brooding Doctor Philippe has been distracted from his vaccination program, deservedly so, after his mysterious encounters with Isabelle, the main attraction of this interesting but rather silly concoction....

Don't forget the conspiracy theories, mainly that the vaccine contains a chip that will allow the gum'ent to trace your movements. If you hear that, say, "Do you have a smart phone? You do? Then you already are carrying around a chip that tells the government your location. But, dude, relax. Nobody cares where you go or what you do. Like me, you are in-sig-ni-fi-cant."

Well they certainly wouldn't need very experienced tracers or much tracing paper in my case, Mike .....Most days I don't step more than 10 feet from my armchair although I'm planning a trip to the laundrette today though so I imagine that Department will go on CODE RED and unleash the stormtroopers, choppers, Alsatians and drones.....

Prima Donna - the love child of Louis Prima and Donna Reed - ? Actually I'm focusing on Spain for the saline ruse - the climate is better, the language is easier and I love those little patatas bravas dishes - I'll need to watch my figure if I want to fit in that uniform! My friend Buck (pictured below on the phone auditing the virus threat posed by the local toenail clipping service ) crunched the numbers and calculated that at a global cost of only an additional 13,789.741 MegaDeaths (mostly Spanish) if I could spin out the Virus til next Easter I'll a) clear all my debts, b) have enough moolah to pay for prosthetic fingers to replace 2 of the 4 I've had amputated by my loan sharks, and c) have enough loose change left over to fill this yawning gap in my dvd collection: Onwards and upwards!

Both my shots were of the Chinese vaccine. I have to dash out now and buy more bamboo shoots. I have developed a mysterious craving for them lately.

STOP THE PRESS! CHANGE OF PLAN!I have an interview for a permanent job as assistant librarian in a prison!!!! Part time and local and good pension. My supporting statement observed that reading was one form of escape not frowned upon by those running the joint..... but a "broad knowledge of fiction and nonfiction for adults and young people" is a requirement I may be probed upon. So tell me - What should I recommend the old lags read? I'm guessing Jean Genet probably a bit racy for this syllabus but other than that all ideas welcome. www.bing.com/videos/search?q=youtube+who+killed+gail+preston&docid=608017002431256652&mid=A1F29BA8C111625C0B7AA1F29BA8C111625C0B7A&view=detail&FORM=VIRE watch the opening scene at 30 seconds or so just after credits I'll be teaching the inmates to do that
