It's been developed by the Daily Wire and is aiming for a 2022 release. " The Hitcher and Near Dark scribe Eric Red has written the script for the untitled action-thriller, which is based on his novel White Knuckle. The story follows a strong-willed woman who survives an attempt by serial killer-trucker “White Knuckle.” Haunted by her encounter and the cops’ inability to catch her tormentor, she partners with a trucker to end the killer’s reign of terror." deadline.com/2021/08/gina-carano-mandalorian-new-movie-daily-wire-hitcher-eric-red-1234812717/

Ben Shapiro is rich and grew up with Hollywood parents. Ben Shapiro is rich? I always thought he was just a big mouth. He’s extremely well off, and contrary to what he would probably like people to believe, it’s not a rags to riches story.

Where does Daily Wire get the funding from? The same way every other media company does, from subscribers and advertisers. Also, Ben Shapiro never claimed to be a rags to riches story. He has truthfully written and spoken about his own life in columns, books, and speeches for years.

Based on the novel by Eric Red, who penned the screenplay for the original version of The Hitcher.

Ben Shapiro is rich? I always thought he was just a big mouth. He’s extremely well off, and contrary to what he would probably like people to believe, it’s not a rags to riches story. He's never claimed to be a rags to riches story. His entire biography is in his books and on-line. He hasn't tried to hide anything. Also, he has written multiple best-selling books and is part owner of a successful media company so of course he is extremely well off.

He doesn’t seem very eager to let people know that both of his parents are members of the Hollywood elite that he rails so much against.

I didn't realize the Daily Wire had so many subscribers like Netflix. 2.5 million subscribers plus advertisers. $65 million in revenue in 2020. Plus all those best selling books that I mentioned. Netflix has made or purchased hundreds of movies and TV shows the Daily Wire has made 1 movie so far so there is no comparison between the two. Am I the only one that can use Google around here?

I'm not the Daily Wire vice president it's not a company I own so it's not a life or death situation that I need to research for the survival of planet Earth at this very moment before the countdown. So stop being a dumbass. When I'm ready I'm sure I'll research the Daily Wire for myself.

So an article from The Hill that discusses a quote of his taken out of context is some sort of proof that he is an "elitist in denial"? So we should just call him names rather than actually discuss the complex political and econonomic issues that are involved? Agree to disagree.

I don't think it's right to call people names just because they pointed out that you are making comments when you don't have the facts to back them up especially when the facts are readily available. Since I don't participate in name calling, I'll conclude my side of this conversation.

So we should just call him names rather than actually discuss the complex political and econonomic issues that are involved? Agree to disagree. Ben Shapiro calls people names all the time. He loves making sweeping generalizations about people he disagrees with. Why not do the same to him? Besides, considering how much he criticizes liberal elitism, I think it’s only fair to point out that he was born a member of the elite, and is guilty of much of the same things he accuses the liberal elite of doing.

This film is a controlled opposition alternative to the outright leftist versions we get.
You will not see Shapiro seeking out a Lex Barker-type to star in an action movie. Guaranteed you won't.
The original Hitcher was about a teenager who encounters this crazy guy who by the end of it has created a legacy for himself. He hitched his personality onto the young man.
But that was "progressive" for 1986.
Today, you can't even do that. It has to be a woman.
But is more of the same. Very narrow focus for stories and characters and it has to play ball with the politics.
A real alternative to Hollywood control would be a movie made in Arkansas or something with zero family connection to Hollywood.
