have yet to see it but want to. Has a large fanbase with some considering it better than Silence of the Lambs. Though most seem to rate it the second best of the Hannibal Lecter movies after Silence apparently there is a Director's Cut as well

Eh, it looks stylish and William Petersen isn’t bad. I was never a fan of Brian Cox as Hannibal Lecter though. I much preferred Red Dragon.

9/10 - I’m one of those people who actually likes it better than SOL. You and me both. I find it superior in every way, to the remake, and stands surely among the best crime-thrillers I have seen. Such a beautiful and haunting film, and it is one of those that just keep on staying with, long after I have re-visited it. I really hope a great Blu-ray releases (for the european fans) will arrive, as the one I picked up years ago, had a very uneven and at times terrible grainy "quality", and I should have just saved my money, and well, at least the scandinavian DVD from 2002, is the best on I got, but so much want to upgrade it, but maybe Arrow Films will jump in, hopefully, and give it a go.
