Hope you enjoy Season 4, Marv. It's short and fantastic. It has, after Season 1, the best season finale of the series. Ive seen it already, but its been about 4 years and i binge watched the entire series so a lot of the seasons kind of blended together in my head. This time im trying to keep them separated.

Watched season 4....Short season, everything felt sped up. Not the room for character depth that the previous seasons had outside of maybe Desmond. All the new characters are cool but I remembered liking Charlotte a lot more the first time around. I've begun to absolutely hate Locke this season. He'll always be interesting but he's become far shadier and a more pathetic version of Ben.

They had committed to writing-to-conclusion during S3, & so they could finally get on with things using flashforwards to really skip us along.

Lost did several things very well. Making us care about the characters was near the top of the list. Too bad I doubt I will watch it again any time soon if ever. Why? Due to that horrific finale coupled with the fact the creators had such contempt for the audience they blatantly lied numerous times in a failed attempt to hide the fact most people guessed how it would end in Season 1. Hell 20 minutes into the pilot. It should have been a ground breaking top 10 series of all time. Instead it's a failure with flashes of brilliance. Oh well. Spot on. The writers' arrogance and disrespect for the audience was ridiculous. I regret gutting it out for all 6 seasons. Kept telling myself "maybe the next episode will be better." Season One was magnificent. As soon as they got into the hatch, and established the Others, the show went into a holding pattern. Every season was variation on heroes vs Others. Mythology was established and never explained. Kate went from amazing character to fifth wheel. And it seemed like they spent ten episodes on whether or not Jack would operate on Ben. After a while, Desmond was the only reason for tuning in each week.

I loved this show so much. It entertained and intrigued me so much. Before season 6, I had bought the DVDs for each season. I admit I was disappointed with season 6, and never bought the DVD for that one. It was not all bad; many of the flash-sideways stories were interesting, and it was cool seeing dead characters returning. Some of the Jacob/MIB plot was interesting, but I HATED Across the Sea. I certainly didn't expect all mysteries solved, but felt this was too much a fairy-tale fantasy explanation. Hated John being reincarnated as a bad guy. Hated that all the Widmore build-up suddenly went poof. The afterlife concept was a bit sketchy, but overall the finale was good and drew more than a tear or 2 from me. The full-circle ending was perfect with the focus on the closing eye. I may have to get that last DVD eventually and give it another try.
